Can only assume io meant next entry via air have a visa rather than visa exempt?
-
Out of interest which airport did you depart from and which airline.. Good that onward flight was not required.
-
You will be fine. Enter visa exempt. Suggest don't bother with the tourist eVisa. Current thread.... https://aseannow.com/topic/1350315-border-bounce-malaysia/ You are not doing bounce so even better.

No offense however the scribble you quoted from Siam Legal is a nonsense. It's a simplistic statement for folk that require that. In the same way that immigration offices have signs in different locations stating "VISA EXTENSION" Most folk that advise on the forum let terms such as "retirement visa" slide. There is no such thing as retirement Visa. At the very best the term was used to describe Non O-A

So you're saying there was NO new slip? Here is post from @Tod Daniels re same question..... "Here is a foolproof way to tell whether your 90-day reporting was reset when you got a new year extension issued. Ask yourself: When I got my year extension stamp inked in did the immigration officer give me a new 90-day report receipt with a new due date? If that answer is yes, they did reset your 90-day reporting when you got your extension and you follow that new paper. If that answer is no, they did not reset your 90-day reporting when you got your extension and you follow the due date of 90-day paper in your passport now. That works 100% of the time"

Previously I ignored posts re Oz embassy rejecting passport photos when the renewal was only available in person. That was until it happened to me (maybe 10yr ago). Sure enough they sent me off to photo joint nearby for exactly same pics as my rejected ones. .,SCAM For online application I went to specialist pp photo joint near my condo and guidelines for photo from AU embassy website. No issue. Seamless application.

Reentry Permit in old passport is no issue. Just travel with both passports. Any reentry permit in old pp remains valid. I renewed my Oz pp not long ago from here in Thailand. A dream. Firstly the entire application can be done online + via mail. You maintain your existing pp. That is not forwarded with application. From day application posted to Oz embassy Bangkok to delivery of new pp via mail to my Bangkok condo = 20 days. Here is link to Oz embassy Bangkok pp renewal Australian Passports https://search.app/rWGioKRWVzn9QhWR9

Here is the form https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173 You do not use TM18 You can apply for COR at CW. It cost 200b and is posted out. Usually takes ~5 days. They state up to 2 weeks. You will get it within a week. The most important thing is to have a TM47 receipt (if you have one) Tip: There is now appointment for COR. If your 90 day report window is open you can make an appointment for that and then the io will photocopy the 90 receipt and process your COR. Here is link for appointment. COR is first option. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/ Note: I just checked que availability for COR. Unlike annual extensions every day in February had slots for appointment. When entering main desk area go to far right desk. Have hard copy of your appointment and filled in form. You will be seen straight away.

Be aware that with extension retirement when you attend for transfer of stamps you need photocopy of bankbook pages back to current extension and update bank book. This is not listed on the form link I posted earlier however it's required at CW.
