  1. OP, @Mike Lister may be able to advise. There is a long thread running about tax implications.
  2. A letter from the bank shows nothing other than you are account owner and balance on day of issue. My extension was done 5 months ago. They wanted balances in bank book back to last extension Don't understand it's not confusing. So bottom line is that for anyone transferring stamps at CW...."you need to proof of financial compliance "
  3. Actually the io was very nice and did all the photocopying of my 2 bank books. I'm moving to agent. Personal choice.
  4. The io was a senior. Also the check doc chick also wanted it. Don't know what you mean by bank letter. They wanted all pages photocopied and she carefully checked the balances back to my previous extension. I use money in bank method and maintain 800k+ all year round
  5. So your wife needed to attend. What was required to show that you are still married. I realize you stated marriage is irrelevant as you are applying for extension based on retirement. However for the benefit of others your previous extension was based on marriage and checks are retrospective. For folk divorce mid extension...they cannot just wait till expiry extension and apply based on retirement
  6. So just home now from trip to CW for transfer of stamps. Apart from the list of what photocopies they require from old and new pp (list on back of form I posted earlier) They wanted not just updated bank book but also copy of all bank book pages. She carefully checked the balances back till my last extension In any event no more first hand reports re CW immigration from me. I'm moving to the Dark Side for extensions Edit: as I posted earlier....the reentry permit was not transferred as it was obtained at DMK. If you are planning to renew your pp then obtain the permit at your immigration office so it can be transferred.
  7. Yes and was discontinued at airports. Still required for land border entries Any form that asks for it eg TM47 etc skip that field
  8. Arrival card TM6. Currently not required at airports. Any form that asks for tm6 just ignore that field
  9. They will accept photocopies of the COR and Medical if renewing car + bike. For places eg CW that have a form to fill in just tick car to receive the COR.
  10. You can renew your license up till 12 month after expiry. Be aware most offices now require you to provide certificate of residence
  11. Thinking that's a universal feeling throughout expat community. Maybe someone will start a thread in suitable forum ... "Pet hate (annoying) thing living in Thailand" For me (not in order) TM30, TM47,.... inconsistent requirements.... Best stop there. I'm sure folk could add to the list.
  12. I have learnt to disregard almost anything from Nonthanburi. So you are stating that after attending immigration to have stamps transferred that for your next annual extensions you were required to provide ....what exactly. Surely not copies of all old pp pages. FWIW here is snippet from form requesting transfer of stamps
  13. This thread has gone off track. It's about a change of policy for transfer of stamps to new passport. Charge wise. This is free at most offices. Some have thrown in posts re charge for certificate of residence. Next there will be posts re dual pricing . If folk want to post about charge for stamp transfer at their particular immigration office... great.
  14. You are referring to different thing. The OP is about transfer of stamps from old pp to new. Your posts refer to "certificate of residence" For most immigration offices the transfer is free. Not so with COR
  15. Marriage extensions are made using money in bank method OR income method. You seem to be using money in bank method. That method only requires the 400k in bank 2 months prior to application and during under consideration period. Why are you concerned about funds in bank other than the 2 months required.
  16. So much about nothing. Kasikorn is one of the 3 banks that WISE do transfers to Thailand up to 2 mil baht. They also have branch at CW. They can also do yearly bank statements on the spot, however takes solid 30 mins. I suggest obtain the annual statement day or 2 prior.
  17. Why would you choose SCB...One of the few banks that does not have a branch at CW..
  18. Which copies of pp did you provide. I'm going to CW tomorrow to do this. I have read couple of reports CW and another that the IO required bank book. Was never needed previously.
  19. Also hopefully explain to him that the wife will need to be with him.
  20. Don't understand this thread . Some folk going to in depth chit-chat re fillable forms etc. My experience since this was required at CW the io pushed them in front of me. I signed and did nothing more. Talk about a storm in a T cup
  21. No....he was referring to a FD account. The funds can be withdrawn at any time the penalty being loss of interest.
