  1. My earlier post was incorrect. Was not aware of change in rule for single entry. The single entry can provide stay up to 90 days. Naturally only provides one entry. The multi entry provides entries (any number within a 90 day period. When I was traveling to Saigon every month years back I would buy 4 (back to back) multi entry and that would cover me for the year. Currently I only travel to Vietnam every few months so I just obtain single entry tourist visa. I just enter dates for 30 day period. Note: very simple process and you receive the eVisa via email in 4-5 days. Check the form fields prior to payment. They send you an email to fix a mistake if one occurs (which has happened to me) No flight details required. Even if you apply well in advance you can type entry post date. (Date of flight to Vietnam) Attached is example I just did now showing "single entry" for stay of 90 days.
  2. No change to fines regarding late 90 day report.
  3. The fine will be 2000b
  4. Recommend not leaving it till last few days.. You lose no days applying early. Phuket you can apply up to 45 days early Here is general list of requirements. In more recent times they added 2 forms regards acknowledgement of penalties. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=843557&key=2caaa6b16bae18dd24e0a61253734932 Are you using money in bank method for financial requirements?
  5. Indeed. We (myself and Thai partner) did many trips to Japan and the return/onward ticket was checked at boarding pass desk and at the airline gate again. Note: trivia for others... Japan immigration count day 1 as the day after you arrive. Thai can enter visa exempt 15 day stamp
  6. Not sure I follow your question. There is two options. Single entry visa that provides for 30 day stay. Multi Entry is valid for 90 days. No need to provide flight dates. Obviously you use flight to Vietnam as your "grant visa valid from" When you then try to enter the "To" date it will only allow 30 day span. Prompts you to correct field if you type in more than 30 days.. It doesn't work like a METV (for Thailand) Note for others : only use the link provided in first reply by @ozfarang for eVisa application. Always check back through application. I In particular the "Grant Visa from" Also the "To" dates
  7. Good result. Thanks for the update. With your itinerary and a 90 day stamp that you will receive you are good to go and no dealings with immigration office in Thailand. Good choice.
  8. Poor advice. OP, make sure that you have hard copy print out of your eVisa. The airline at departure will check the details against your passport. With a Visa or folk with reentry permit an onward flight is NOT required.
  9. Simple question. OP has his answer. Thread closed.
  10. You posted similar a day back. I will continue to advise that for airline at departure a bus/train ticket is not advisable. I have had discussion with airline staff regarding this mainly at Saigon with AirAsia and Melbourne with Jetstar. More than once. A FLIGHT ticket would be the only acceptable option.
  11. OP, are you flying visa exempt (no visa for Thailand) You can obtain "rent a ticket" from companies such as one mentioned above. The airline at departure may require an onward flight within the visa exempt stamp (currently 60 days) Screenshot of unpaid flight is useless as is the credit card details.
  12. Two bickering posts removed and baiting post.
  13. The interesting thing is that the OP stated the following...... "Now, I have been in contact with my local immigration. They have been told the facts of my particular case. I have been told that i may have to bring my wife to immigration with me on the day........I have the 400,000 Baht in my account, I have all the required paperwork.....he is legally my son...." Interesting that immigration did not mention divorce and joint custody.
  14. That was always required for applying at consulates (eg Saigon) so guessing will be required for eVisa you outlined. Interesting (to me) that if you apply for eVisa for entry to Vietnam, a proof of flight is not required..
  15. OP, with a non O visa you do not need to have an onward flight.
  16. Yes. If you have a visa to enter Thailand the airline at departure will not ask to see return/onward flight. That discussion is for those flying visa exempt. What type of eVisa are you applying for? Currently visa exempt entry provides 60 day stamp. SETV is not good alternative
  17. Is that a serious concern? True that savings account provides very little interest vs FD account however the funds (400k) only need to be in bank account for 2 months plus under consideration period. Can then be used. Use of FD is more a consideration for extensions based on retirement where some folk park 800k ongoing.
  18. Yes. The thread is about obtaining an eVisa. That's different to simple border bounce to obtain visa exempt entry to obtain 60 day stamp. Plenty of companies operating from Pattaya. Here is one link. Good idea to use company. https://aseannow.com/topic/1312731-border-run-pattaya-to-cambodia/
  19. 4 months from last entry to Thailand he will not have an issue.
  20. That's because it does occur. Along with your experience of explaining intention of obtaining extension.. Along with asking for supervisor and in the end being asked to sign a waiver. Along with not even being asked for onward flight by airline at departure.
