  1. This is a quote from ubonjoe. The only reason he mentions CW as it was reply to CW specific question. "Chaeng Wattana immigration has issued the 60 day extension of a tourist visa and visa exempt entry after the 30 day extension of them were issued.. More than one report about it. The 2 extensions are not the same category is the reason they will issue them. The 60 day extension is issued due to being married to a Thai or the parent of one. A 30 day extension is issued for touristic purposes and the 60 day extension is issued to visit a family member that is Thai"
  2. Yes my error. Not Udon Thani. Will edit my post.. Have never read a post from ubonjoe pointing out the 60 day extension to visa exempt not possible at UR surprising as that was where he lived.
  3. So Ubon Ratchathani immigration not allowing the 60 day extension to visit wife. Here is thread where ubonjoe points out that the 60 extension to visit Thai spouse is available from visa exempt entry. https://aseannow.com/topic/1130123-re-60-day-extension-to-visit-your-wife/ Here is one of many posts from various members. This one from @Liquorice He could also apply for a further 60-day extension to visit a Thai spouse on top of the 30-day extension. Edited June 13 by Liquorice
  4. You can obtain a 30 day extension to visa exempt entry. You can in addition obtain a 60 day extension "to visit Thai wife" Don't know why the io told you otherwise. Note: obtain the 30 day extension first followed by the 60 to visit wife.
  5. The point @Pattaya57 is making is that the guy that posted the question would still have a valid multi-entry Visa at time of applying for a reentry permit for the permission of stay stamp in his pp. I also doubt this is possible. In any event the dates seem made up as does the scenario. Only spending a couple of days in Thailand then he can return visa exempt. That also provides 60 day stamp.. What's the 1000b reentry permit for (even if it was possible).
  6. Off topic post removed.
  7. https://aseannow.com/topic/1297166-90-day-report/ This thread answers your question. Include recipe of most recent TM47 report. You can make appointment for TM47 report at CW. Here is link for appointment. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/
  8. Indeed. And there in is the problem. The OP is married not divorced. Child does not live with him and he does not have sole custody.
  9. OP, your assumptions are correct. How did you obtain extensions previously.. You mention that you have joint account but...." I must open a personal account" For income method you would need to show 12 monthly deposits without "income letter" from embassy.
  10. In that case you do not even need to show funds came from abroad. So yes now fully aware of your details.... entering Thailand visa exempt and applying for non O based on retirement and subsequent 12 month extension is a valid option..
  11. The thing with Jomitien is that office requires 2 months seasoning for the 800k to apply for non O retirement. That is a nonsense rule. The rule for non O application is 800k on day of application. Impossible for some. However seems you can show seasoned funds.
  12. Only Koh Samui immigration can answer if a TM30 will be sufficient or something more. Here is Samui specific and not favourable re Samui immigration. https://aseannow.com/topic/1308581-non-o-extension-retirement-medical-certificate/
  13. Currently visa exempt provides 60 day stamp. Most offices require min 15 days remaining. CM require 21. Phuket 15 working days. Most offices allow you to apply 30 days prior to expiry. Some eg CM, CW etc 45 days prior Which immigration office do you deal with. I asked earlier for a reason
  14. Yes. The exit and reenter would require purchase of reentry permit Single reentry permit is 1000b. Can be obtained at immigration or airport on day of departure
  15. Of topic post re income method removed.
  16. Not required. Only required for non O-A. You don't want that visa. Here is link to thread that outlines "income method" for extension. Italian embassy provides this option. https://aseannow.com/topic/1327033-retirement-visa-funds/ Edit: BTW look at advice regarding onward flight for airline at departure (for the airline) if you decide to fly visa exempt.
  17. Good news re bank account. So you have two very good options. Obtain non O outside of Thailand or enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain non O retirement at your local immigration office Here is thread that outlines process. Which immigration office will you use. There is point to that question. https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/
  18. First up don't use term "retirement visa" some will think you are referring to non O-A multi entry visa. You don't want that. Best off with a single entry non O based on retirement. That can be obtained in pp country or nearby Thai embassies/consulates. Can also be obtained in Thailand from visa exempt or tourist visa entry. Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only. My guess not.
  19. Further posts regarding monthly budgets required to live in Thailand will be removed as off topic. That's a very old chestnut.
  20. Thanks. Being lazy. I live in an apartment and referred to it as a condo (incorrectly)
  21. 65k you say is twice what is required for 2 school kids and parents to live comfortably. More like Floyd Comfortably Numb That's not the point. The point is income method avoids having funds tied up in bank
  22. I have never supplied a TM30 for anything. Despite change in rules in June 2022 pointing out TM30 no longer required after inter province travel and international travel reentering with mult entry visa or reentry permit, it seems immigration are wanting new TM30 even if returning to normal ongoing address. Think this is tied up with trying to sync online TM47 with TM30. In any event, I'm doing my annual extension next Tuesday and tomorrow for first time ever I will request my condo office to do a TM30 and provide screenshot Bit apprehensive about this extension. Thread outlining changes para 2.2 https://aseannow.com/topic/1169664-thai-immigration-announce-changes-to-tm30-reporting/
  23. Having lived in Thailand for 20 years you would be well aware of income method option for extensions based on retirement. Even though it requires forward planning as UK embassy does not income letter any more. 65k per month is hardly tying up money.
  24. If you're over 50 do extension based on retirement. If the financial requirements are too difficult then use an agent. Surely moving Thai kids to another country is a bit dramatic..
  25. So let's get this right.. The OP is still married to sons mother and son lives with her. You by contrast are not married to mother (assume were married when child born) Then you used term "butterfly" to immigration. Not remotely aligned to OP situation
