  1. Out of interest...what does the 12 month insurance policy cost. I realize it varies by age etc
  2. I thought it was possible at some immigration offices with double the amount however best to follow ubonjoe advice in attached thread. You could check with you immigration office however thinking it's a no. https://aseannow.com/topic/1192029-extension-of-visa-using-a-joint-bank-account/?do=findComment&comment=15998760
  3. That is not the case at all. There is no limit to visa exempt entries via air. Does that mean someone can live in Thailand by using back to back continuous visa exempt entries. Answer No. You like a few others are not understanding what has changed here. The "2 land border entries per calendar year rule" has been removed. That's it. Living ongoing in Thailand on visa exempt entries will not work.
  4. None of your posts make sense. Yes you can border bounce to any land border and reenter visa exempt. What does that achieve. Your non O would be killed off and you could apply for non O based on retirement at local immigration office using TM87. Subsequently you could apply for 12 months extension. What is the point of your posts
  5. Then fine. Provide the TM6 to immigration. For the border crossings that do no do TM6 those folk will not provide it.
  6. And if you had entered at land border that does not do TM6 then you would just inform her. If you had entered via air you would not have a TM6. A 60 day extension? Must have been based on visit Thai wife/family?
  7. He won't require a TM6 for things such as extension, TM47 etc Can't see them reintroducing it at airports and thinking all land border entries will not require TM6
  8. What does Cambodia have to do with anything. With no limit on visa exempt land border entries means little for continuous living in Thailand. Read the entire thread to try and understand what it's discussing. BTW you would not be "changing back to extensions" You would need to apply for new non O visa and subsequent 12 month extension
  9. Some land borders are not requiring TM6 https://www.tatnews.org/2023/11/thailand-suspends-tm6-form-at-sadao-immigration-checkpoint/
  10. It's incorrect terminology. Most of the time the meaning is obvious and does not require clarification. Hence just answer without nit picking. Next time you are in an immigration office such as CW .....where there is large sign at the L desks.."VISA EXTENSION" explain to the io that the sign is incorrect 😤
  11. Correct. However there is no confusion as it's clear the OP means extension to his current permission of stay.
  12. Thinking Not. No need to have wife's name in parents blue book.
  13. Read @Rob Browder post above. Seems you had a ME non O ? You have done zero visa exempt entries this calendar year. What is your visa run company on about. BTW: Another option is mini holiday to eg CM_Saigon and reenter Thailand visa exempt via air (CNX) for 60 day stamp.
  14. 1. With a single entry non O visa in pp you will not be required to show return/onward flight. 2. Yes funds as you outlined for 12 month extension Note: you are not compelled to obtain the 12 month extension. Rather you could do a border bounce and receive 60 day visa exempt entry. Thinking since you want stay of up to 7 months over conservative years that a non O + 12 month extension + second 12 month extension would be a good option. You would require a reentry permit along with the extension.
  15. OP, as pointed out in first reply.. your Thai wife can live anywhere not necessarily her Thai house book. The parents need to make a TM30. For the 12 month extension you require the funds in bank for 2 months seasoning. Assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only.
  16. Not exactly clear what service the agent has provided. If in fact he has covered the financial requirements then you may need to start over with a new non O. You state ..."My visa expires in Feb 2025.' Just be clear you have a permission of stay. Valid till Feb 2025 not a visa.
  17. Indeed and I get the impression most guys using combo method maintain the 400k all year as you outlined.
  18. With a non O-A the visa has a validity of 12 months. Every time you are stamped in during the validity period you will be given 12 month permission of stay. However to be given that 12 months you need to show insurance for that period. Your stamp permission will match your insurance. By reentering just prior to visa expiry you could in fact stay in Thailand almost 2 years . Note: for the "second year" if you wish to take side trip out of Thailand and reenter you would require a reentry permit. Aside: Thinking there are better options for 6-7 month stay for two consecutive years.
  19. OP, only thing to add to some earlier replies is that you also need check with your immigration office. Some straight up refuse to accept combination method. Unlikely but check. You will need to show 12 month of transfers for your extension. Discussed by ubonjoe here https://aseannow.com/topic/1259738-combination-method-for-retirement-extension/
  20. Yes. Also the 60 day extension to visit wife as suggested above is also an option.
  21. Start of this thread Tod referred to guy obtaining 60 stamp visa exempt stamp and that guy had two prior visa exempt this calendar year. Thinking you are right to go.
  22. Your ME Non O has expired. You currently have a permit with "admitted until" date. When you exit prior to that date it's done. Just bounce back into Thailand for visa exempt entry 60 days.
