Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You posted..... "This year (last month) I got my bank letter and passbook update the day before applying and CM on the day of applying still required another update to the fixed account passbook!" So you did have to update your bank book on day of application. Also you now mention extension is based on marriage and not retirement. The best way to show update for savings a/c is to make small deposit. Last year I had to transfer stamps to new pp. The io made me go down to bank and make a deposit (FD a/c at CW) Also copies of bankbook pages back to previous extension. -
Thanks for that. Later can you post details of meet and greet at airport. Enjoy your stay

From numerous releases re DTAC the typical statement is same as this cut/paste from a legal company. "Starting 1 May 2025, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival." Seems simple to me. Are you a Thai national? Answer No. Fill in the form.

Thai Visa (Retirement)

Does your embassy provide income letter? If not you need to use funds in bank method. Regardless of method the bank account needs to be in your name only. -
Thai Visa (Retirement)

You have a single entry non O based on retirement. When you enter Thailand you will receive a 90 day stamp. If you need to exit and reenter within that period you would require a reentry permit. 1000b Best to look at the bigger picture moving forward. To live ongoing in Thailand you need to apply for 12 months extension. That's actually what you should do this trip. At very least if you do not have a Thai bank account you could open one with your Non O status. Note Multi Entry Non O retirement is no longer available. Edit: @wildoates had another read of your OP. I notice plan of return to home country to sell up etc. In hindsight it would have been better for the visit in June ("short stay") to have just come visa exempt entry. The next time you return you have two options: 1. Obtain new Non O and after arrival be given 90 day stamp and in last 30 days obtain a 12 month extension with funds having been in your Thai bank account for 2 months+ OR 2. Arrive in Thailand visa exempt and apply for Non O (retirement) at local immigration office. The for 12 months extension same process as outlined in first option #1 Do you currently have a Thai bank account in your name only. -
Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)

The guy quoted mentioned that he has an FD account and "maintains the funds" With a FD account immigration may/should just accept his bank book + photocopies of pages. When I used an FD account (800k+) I did not provide 12 month bank statement. To be on safe side I did a deposit on day of application to show update and activity. (for FD a/c min deposit is 1000b) -

That's actually the norm. CW would also require update on day of application for extension. Some io even what to see "activity" You can achieve both by small deposit and have teller print out last page of bankbook.
