Marriage extension...Immigration Home Visit
DrJack54 replied to wondra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Read this thread and many others regarding option of extension based on marriage vs retirement. If the financial requirements were the same no one would opt for marriage. Hardly rambling. To opt for extension based on marriage given much more paperwork requirements is clearly down to the very minimal financials. Clear enough? -
Marriage extension...Immigration Home Visit
DrJack54 replied to wondra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm rich. Sad for your plight. So sounds like visit is every year. No kick back I assume. eg Petrol money. Do you need to pretend some enjoyment of the visit. Offer coffee or whatever. In earlier years photo of husband and wife sitting on bed. Think that not required anymore. Very strange in my life rules. -
Marriage extension...Immigration Home Visit
DrJack54 replied to wondra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Clearly for many it is a huge deal going by posts in the thread and many other threads. IF I was married I would still do extensions based on retirement to avoid nonsense.. I don't accept random folk immigration or otherwise in my house. -
RIP Ubon Joe - ASEAN NOW visa expert
DrJack54 replied to Rimmer's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Hope not inappropriate. Have already done couple of posts to champion remarkable guy ubonjoe. I hope at some point in time AseanNow mods or close friends of Joe can do eulogy of his life. Obviously family need to approve. We all wish to acknowledge what a void he has left. Perhaps know bit more about a bloke that helped us all so much. -
You need to file a TM30 at immigration office where you deal with for things such as extensions. Do that prior to applying for any extensions etc. If not applying for extension do nothing
-
Depending on immigration office he might not even get past doc check without TM30. Suggest the OP obtains TM30 prior to attending immigration for extension etc.

RIP Ubon Joe - ASEAN NOW visa expert
DrJack54 replied to Rimmer's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Some lovely posts in this thread to a one of a kind. This post bit left field. So just now I wanted to make appointment at CW next week. Couldn't find the appointment link. So looked on AseanNow and this pic was first result in some random thread. How many times have we seen "THANKS JOE" -
You were given a 30 day visa exempt stamp. If you plan to obtain an extension to that stamp you will need to file a TM30.

RIP Ubon Joe - ASEAN NOW visa expert

In shock. Most of us wondered what was going on with Joe and now this SAD SAD news. Joe was the backbone of AseanNow. Universally liked, respected and a true gentleman. To say will be sadly missed is a ridiculous understatement. Irreplaceable in so many ways. I know Joe had a wife and believe daughter. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. R.I.P- 379 replies

Exemption or Tourist Visa after Education Visa
DrJack54 replied to angelos's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Some first hand experience in this CM thread. Letter from school recommended -
Which immigration office? If it's long trip and/or busy be aware that 90 day reports can also be done via mail.

Exemption or Tourist Visa after Education Visa
DrJack54 replied to angelos's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Was not clear from your OP unless I missed something. So all ok to fly to eg Vietnam with infant but cannot do border bounce. Seriously. Your child is not subject to overstay. He/she is exempt. From CM do a border bounce and leave child with trusted friend. -
Exemption or Tourist Visa after Education Visa
DrJack54 replied to angelos's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's dating back to 2019 when Bangkok airports played funny games You mention baby difficult to travel via land. If you are not located in CM then what are you typing about Where are you located? -
Exemption or Tourist Visa after Education Visa
DrJack54 replied to angelos's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Where are you located? If Bangkok then return flight to Udon Thani and border bounce at Nong Khai would be easy. The road from UT To friendship bridge is straight and flat. It's under 2 hours. Why make easy difficult. -
Extra class after school possible?
DrJack54 replied to Joe32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is a 265 page thread with advice. https://aseannow.com/topic/121353-story-of-my-thai-citizenship-application/ -
Re-register won't work. Your next report online should be fine. Same thing happened to me at CW when immigration officer decided to help. I told her absolutely not. I will do it myself. 90 day reporting (apart from first one) has nothing to do with extensions. Despite the practice at some offices.

Is that serious. Only accept cash. Referred to as "under the table" -
Exemption or Tourist Visa after Education Visa

Could be an issue. Why does the visa exempt need to be via air. Also how long is "a few months" -
30 day extension of a Visa Exempt with no TM30
DrJack54 replied to Regyai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Many immigration offices will require a screenshot of your TM30. Where are you staying. Most hotels do them and can provide you with screenshot when requested -
Do it online very quick process. You can leave without doing it.

Concerned on blacklist
DrJack54 replied to GrengJai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Show me ONE similar post that mirrors OP. NO overstay. NO criminal offense. The OP can enter visa exempt. If flagged at departure or upon arrival I would be amazed. Alternatively enter eg Saigon and apply for tv at consulate. Most likely a balls up at eVisa end. Recently a chap had eVisa refused UK Appealed and having already entered Thailand visa exempt had his appeal upheld and TV issued. Current thread.
