Hero. In baht 1,700 is sweet f All. From the OP... am selling this membership for THB 1.7 mill Unrelated but thinking the OP price is very reasonable. Excellent option for younger guy as does not require the retirement age restriction of 50yr. It's a bargain imo at 1.7 million

Moving away from using an agent
DrJack54 replied to eddyod's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Completely incorrect. I complain re many USA folk using seasons on AseanNow example .. " In Fall". Guessing that means Autumn and no idea what exact month that is. Also posting various costs of this and that in USD. I believe the medical condition is "center of the universe syndrome" -

What is your point . Who cares. My point is can folk use Baht in posts and in regards to months of the year avoid "Fall" etc. Just yanks thinking center of universe using USD and seasons that apply to USA. -

Assume that's 80 USD. Similar to when yanks refer to "fall" in lieu of month. -

So you use a hand holder. Fine, however not what the OP is about. The way to change from agent to doing it yourself has been outlined in the thread. -

Confused re 45 day VOE
DrJack54 replied to rogerpattaya's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Correct. If you have a visa or reentry permit the airline will not ask to see onward flight. It is visa exempt requirement. There can always be weird exceptions. I once flew X Melbourne to Saigon. My visa for Vietnam only had 5 days remaining. The Jetstar clerk made me show flight out of Vietnam. No problem as I had one Saigon to Bangkok couple of days later. -

I'm hearing you. The two big leap forward has been the ability to make appointment. Especially in relation to CW. The second is that they finally seem to have good software for 90 day reports. In relation to reference to using an agent..... personally I have no issue with it at all. Despite what the preachers type on AseanNow there is no issue. At some point in the future I would use agents most likely due to mobility etc. I do it myself using money in bank method retirement. -

The problem is appears the guy in question is from UK. Unfortunately UK,USA,AU governments threw us under the bus and do not endorse income letters. To use income method for pathway from visa exempt or tourist visa entry the applicant would need to show 12 months of previous transfers. Thinking he has two options. Agents or place 800k in Thai bank account in his name only. -

He can send the extra 15k along with the 50k. He would then be using the "income method" Combo method refers to eg the 50k transferred each month in addition to funds keep on deposit in the account. -

DrJack54 replied to eddyod's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The issue is that the agent uses money in the bank method. Immigration checks the bank book or bank statements retrospectively. They would look to see if financial requirements were met. It's possible to switch back to doing it yourself but you would need to commence that process a year prior to doing it yourself. Some would just do a border bounce without reentry permit and reenter visa exempt and obtain a new non O having placed the 800k in bank account and obtaining subsequent extension. -
When a divorce occurs and the parties are still on reasonable terms it is not uncommon to allow the current extension to continue. When time for next extension the chap can switch to extention based on retirement. The wife (x wife) needs to attend immigration with him. In the case of the OP it seems that would not be possible.
