  1. As uj suggests ...ask immigration to give you 30 day visa exempt entry. They can do it. If not you will need exit before expiry of your extension Sept 22 and reenter visa exempt.
  2. Any idea of what the insurance 3.5 mil will cost. Realize depends on age etc. Just curious.. Plenty of folk ditching their non O-A and starting afresh with non O
  3. As should be the case. Good to see some immigration offices playing by the rules instead of making up their own.
  4. No insurance required for non O obtained in Thailand and no insurance for annual extensions. You will need to use money in bank method. Obviously you need a bank account and this is difficult with visa exempt entry. Suggest you use an agent for the bank account. Your 30 day visa exempt entry can be extended by 30 days to gain time if required.
  5. An agent? Surely not. Download a TM8 fill in form. Attach photo. Pay 1000 baht for single reentry. 3800 for multiple. Can obtain at immigration or at airport at departure.
  6. It's possible to obtain the non O given number of days remaining on your permit. When you obtain the non O, that gives you a 90 day permission of stay. In the last 30 days of that permit you can obtain your 12 month extension with funds having been in bank for 2 months.
  7. What do you mean "like before" Attached is convo from USA couple that arrived late last year on visa exempt. They then obtained standard 30 day extension at CW. Then tried first covid extension at Hua Hin. Disregard immigration rife with extortion.
  8. I read that also. The immigration officer was wrong. You will not have that issue at CW. The 800k in account on day of application for your non O is all that required.
  9. If they are continued all I can hope for is all the sad folk stop with the ..."there are flights available why don't they go home" routine. As I have stated for months covid extensions have nothing to do with that. For some reason the government has the order in gazette for their own reasons. That's it ....
  10. Just poor preparation.. Find out what is required for extensions based on retirement. Very straightforward
  11. Read my earlier post. You set up account with Wise. Very quick and simple. You type in the amount you wish to transfer. Wise gives instant quote with exchange rate and their charges etc. You nominate a bank in Thailand (your Thai bank account) for the funds to be transfered to. You then confirm deal. You then do online transfer from your USA bank to the Wise account. Clearly if in Thailand you need to be aware of any limit your USA bank may have ... Example daily limit.
  12. Certainly not final curtain on staying in Thailand. Perhaps for covid extensions. Anyone on covid extentions most likely has their 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year at land borders available, not to mention tourist visas at places such as Vientiane.
  13. Interesting.... In the past it appears that immigration offices/officers have no idea about covid extensions being made past any current deadline. July 25 being in place currently. Strangely very few comments about this recently. Thinking most believe it's a sure thing that CE won't be available past July 25. I'm not so sure. Applying 3 weeks early was always touch and go.
  14. UJ has you covered. Bit messy but with your 30 day entry later could do border run and use your eVisa. How long were you hoping to stay in Thailand
  15. If you are married it's a no brainer. The financial requirements are not onerous. The downside is that it requires paperwork and possibly a home visit at extension time etc.
  16. Good move. I wouldn't be confident without bannister
