TM30 should not be required for extensions. The fact that Korat is rogue office is your issue. Why complain about my posts as couple of others have. Your immigration office sets your hurdles. If you returned with a reentry permit then no need to file TM30. As usual it depends on your immigration office. Regards your request for residence certificate immigration should not have required an updated TM30. Your most recent TM47 should have been sufficient. Bottom line is unfortunately you need to do what your immigration office requires. Which immigration office do you deal with?

Not a problem. For that period of time for your return to Thailand what visa etc option you opt for depends on period of visit etc. Plenty of guys (still working in home country) visit for period of months each year. Plenty of options for married guys eg 60 extension to visit wife etc etc.

Please report back your experience. At CW it's 200b and no option for same day service. It's mail out and can take 1-2 weeks. May not be an issue as might take you that long to get appointment at Transport office for your TDL Renewal. I'm also doing mine soon and you may like to check out motor forum. I always state that folk should check with their own immigration office. There are approx 75 in Thailand. I post what are the correct current rules for TM30 after trips to other locations including travel abroad. Guessing you are unaware of the requirements. The fact that some immigration offices do not follow the rules is unfortunate.

In some threads dealing with TM30 it appears that CM are using rules that are pre June 2020. The message you received online seems to indicate they want you to do a new TM30. Absolutely ridiculous.

Just one person's opinion but for me it's a no brainer. Saigon airport close to Bui Vien district 1 and fairly quick on bus from airport. 20k dong. I recently went return airfare 3500baht. The evisa is very simple. 3 business days for processing. $25usd.

Correct. However some immigration offices do a 90 report at same time as extensions. They should not as report has nothing to do with extensions.

I guess that's why they make an METV available. Granted does require exit reentry every 60/90 days but basically enables (almost) continuous stay in Thailand of 9 months.

You would need to chat with your insurance carrier to find out when new policy can be purchased. Hopefully someone that has done this previously towards end of validity of the non O-A can post first hand experience.

Also have with you most recent TM47 receipt.

It should be checked and the validity stamp on entry would only be up till date of valid insurance.

You haven't made one valid point. It's clear what the new TM30 requirements are and what they mean for expats living in Thailand. In a nutshell living in place of residence no TM30 is required to be filed after travel to another province involving stays and also travel out of Thailand and upon return no TM30 required. What does require a TM30 is if there is a change of address (usual place of residence) or when someone exits Thailand and reenters with new visa or visa exempt.

Hopefully lease will be sufficient for them to issue you a certificate of. May ask also for TM30. That would not be successful in Bangkok where they also require 90 day report. Fortunately think you are obtaining bank account in another province. From my personal experience Kasikorn bank have been bit more flexible than Bangkok Bank.
