  1. Each entry from a tourist visa or visa exempt can be extended by 30 days. Visa exempt entry via land are limited to 2 per calendar year.
  2. Thankyou. These couple of posts already giving me a push to try harder. Did you mention how old you were when you had the replacement. I guess like most you had a period of time before it became necessary.
  3. Woooh....wasn't expecting that. So sat night will be my 5th at home. I was saying to Thai partner that I wouldn't be surprised if lot of folk don't fall over. I actually cut right back yesterday and only did one up and back hallway. The day before did 4 times that but at night had bit similar to muscle spasms in calf's. Having DVT couple of times and a pulmonary embolism, I was nervous as very similar feeling.. I take on board what you are saying. I have seen the forearm crutches that you mention. Guessing you mean 3 weeks + or so post op. Currently I'm 10 nights PO. Thanks for your help.
  4. How did you enter Thailand? If with reentry permit you do nothing. If new visa or visa exempt you need to file a TM30. Regarding your 90 day report. Your clock started on date of your entry. Do your next report within 90 days from your reentry date.
  5. It can be required by airline at departure to issue boarding pass. It would only be asked for visa exempt. With a visa or reentry permit the airline would not ask for onward flight.
  6. Currently required. When are you planning to enter Thailand?
  7. Short update on self funded hip joint replacement. So the "package" which includes operation and 5 nights in flash private room with all the bells and whistles was 350k baht. Not included is post op daily visits (checks) by your Doctors. In my case 2 separate issues. One obviously for the hip and one due to past DVT and PE issues. This all added up to another 40k. So 390k all up. Regardless if you are self funded or using insurance I suggest you do a lot of planning ahead. The assistance from a partner or carer is imo almost essential. With the flash room and sleeping facilities along with all the extras etc for my partner that was a godsend. I live in a condo and while it's large it is a studio. As a result it is extremely easy to move about the room. Also a bonus is the hallways from the room which enables easy access to walking with frame. We have a townhouse and if we were living there I would seriously have rented a condo as described above. I won't sugar coat it....The recovery is not pleasant. Guess also depends on your size. At 180 and 95kg the rest of my joints and muscles are complaining about the added work load. On the + side the area of hip and operation has no pain at all. If anyone has tip or two about recovery that would be good. Couple of earlier posts re rehab were very helpful.
  8. Did you consider obtaining a 60 day extension to visit wife. You could then buy a reentry permit to protect that extension. After return you could obtain 12 month extension.
  9. Yes there is an under consideration period for extension based on marriage. You need to obtain final stamp prior to exit Thailand.
  10. Just to tidy that bit up. It's not before end of first visa validity. The non O is used. It gave you 90 day permission of stay. With 15+ days left on that permit you can obtain a 12 month extension based on retirement. You are not applying for a "second non O visa"
  11. Many folk enter tourist visa or visa exempt with aim to obtain non O. In order to that you need to have a Thai bank account in your name.
  12. Indeed. Just before covid I tried to open a FD account with Bangkok Bank Asoke branch. I had 400k on me. I had a non O and reentry permit. The bank manager insisted that I provide a residence certificate or statement from my embassy. TBH later same day I was successful at Kasikorn bank. They were happy with my non O. None of which helps the OP
  13. You will not have an issue. Regarding onward flight (does not have to be return) it should be within 30 days. Airline may require onward flight to issue boarding pass.
  14. Things have changed dramatically in last few years main reason being money laundering laws Also if currently you were opening a bank account in Bangkok and a residence certificate was required you could not obtain one on visa exempt or tourist visa.
  15. Very relevant in my book. If the branch is in Bangkok and you recently opened your account you could provide details.. This thread is repeated often with vague replies which are meaningless.
  16. Where? The OP is opening account in Bangkok When did you open this account Which bank. Without details your post means little.
  17. Exactly. Very easy for some (including me) to suggest vist immigration office when it is not handy. Having a Thai assistant with you would help with the language issue if you decide to visit immigration. I'm not familiar with HH attitude re combination method. What is clear from some reports at various offices is that they refuse combo method. Clearly not following the "rules". But as we know they can make up their own.
  18. I'm pretty much certain BB will require residence certificate or statement from embassy (for opening bank account in Bangkok) On a TV it would need be statement from embassy. Not all provide that service. Oz embassy being one.
  19. Yeah realize that. Was just trying to get your thread moved. There are recent threads about your question As usual with Thailand some positive experiences and some sad. Good luck.
  20. @john smith I don't often suggest to go and chat with your immigration office. However anything to do with combination method is problematic at some immigration offices. True it shouldn't be, but best to check with them.
  21. In Bangkok you will require a letter from embassy (not all embassies provide) OR residence certificate. For RC in Bangkok you need to have made a 90 report, which you will not have on a TV. Use an agent. Check with Siam Legal.
  22. As pointed out by others ... you're using old app. Register on new system and try report online.
