  1. Don't think METV was on OP list. Worth a consideration. Approx 9 months in itself especially with borders opening.
  2. Saigon easy winner and bonus of nice helpful consulate in district 1 area close to Bui Vien st.
  3. I think you have described the options pretty well. Clearly you have looked into it extensively. As they say in Thailand..."up to you". You did not mention your age. Clearly under 50. Nor indicate desired length of stay.
  4. It happens often. It helps if you have reentry permit or visa marked and draw attention to check in staff makes it simple.
  5. What are you actually asking? Airlines can insist on an onward flight if flying visa exempt. If flying with a visa or reentry permit an onward flight is not required.
  6. I was referring to obtaining non O retirement inside Thailand. The income method for extension is not an option without income letter from embassy for first extension.
  7. Can you elaborate might help others. Was it as simple as pointing out your non O that they had overlooked?
  8. They were incorrect. I assume you had a current non imm O visa. An onward flight is not required. A current visa or reentry permit would not required proof of onward flight for boarding pass. Did you draw it to their attention?
  9. If your goal is a non O visa why on earth would you consider STV. First of all not possible. Your non O to be based on ? Edit: by STV think you meant single entry tourist visa. SETV. You can do either. Enter visa exempt or tourist visa, then obtain non O.
  10. Realize that. To reenter via land border I don't see an issue. I qualified it by stating if you had chosen to enter via air you could be refused without a visa
  11. I don't have personal experience however cannot see why you cannot enter VE at land border. If via air I would certainly suggest a TV.
  12. 30 days. Can be extended by 30 days. Two visa exempt entries visa exempt via land border per calendar year.
  13. At a guess they are wanting you to provide a TM30 or equivalent that satisfies them of your address. You entered on a new visa and you need to file a TM30.
  14. You are entering on visa exempt. You will need a TM30 to apply for your 30 day extension along with the photocopies you mentioned. Your hotel can provide you with copy of TM30. Screenshot is fine. You will apply for extension at Laski IT Square. 3rd floor. There is photocopy joint available next door.. IT square imm office is just opposite the Laski train station red line about 3 km from CW. Have a read of the threads advising to have onward flight out of Thailand since you are entering visa exempt. An onward flight may be required by the airline. Options outlined in the many threads on this.
  15. Obtain a tourist visa. You won't have a problem. Extend the tv by 30 days. Keep in mind you could also do a border run
  16. Provided the land border is open no problem. Avoid Aranyaprathet/Poipet from Cambodia.
  17. Only if your embassy provides income letter UK,USA,AU do not
  18. Your account is pretty much the same as mine at Bangkok except that the residence certificate takes between one and two weeks to arrive and cost 200baht. I only obtained one RC and photocopy was accepted for the bike. Ditto medical certificate. Note for anyone obtaining RC from CW you must have done a 90 report.
  19. What you are describing is obtain a non O retirement in Thailand with subsequent extension. That is very different to a non O-A. The non O with extension will require money (800k) to be in Thai bank. However agree the non O is best option given insurance requirement for non O-A.
  20. When you renew you passport you need to visit your bank to update your details. If not then to access the account you need to show both passports.
  21. There is no reason you should not receive a covid extension having entered visa exempt and yes you attend Laski..
  22. The OP was not referring to the Thai authorities... He stated this..... "However, I did a short visit to Cambodia from Thailand last week and when returning I was stopped In Phnom Penh airport at the Bangkok Air check in counter and told I had to show them my ticket OUT of Thailand".... He is referring to onward flight required by the airline.. Two separate things. Thai immigration can ask for onward flight if entering visa exempt and independent of that the airline can request the same to issue boarding pass.
  23. If you entered on visa exempt or tourist visa you can obtain a non O based on marriage. That grants a 90 day stay and depending on how long you wish to stay you could obtain a 12 month extension or obtain the 60 to visit wife. How long do you wish to stay in Thailand You cannot obtain a visa exempt or tourist visa while in Thailand. You would need to exit and return.
  24. In the main because it is rare to be asked for an onward flight at Thai airport on arrival. The requirement comes from the airline to issue boarding pass. Not always but common. If entering with a visa (even TV) you will not be asked for onward flight by airline or immigration.
