  1. From the OP first post...... '"Could I get a temporary (tourism or other) extension (at Jomtien) after my marriage extension expires, then meanwhile put the money in my bank for 2 months before applying for the 1 year extension again?".... Seems he implying possiblity of obtaining funds if can buy some time. Hence my suggestion of exit. Still not clear if he used his 60 day extension to visit wife on this latest entry. So that's also an option.
  2. You do not have a reentry permit so you can exit anytime you want prior to expiry of your permit. Keep in mind the 45 days is (at this stage) available till March 31. To apply for the non O marriage you need 400k on the day you apply and must apply with minimum 15 days remaining on your permission of stay. If more time is required to come up with the 400k you can apply for additional 60 day extension to visit wife.
  3. Keep in mind that for the non O marriage the 400k needs to be in the bank on the day you apply and for extension needs to have been in the bank for 2 months. After the under consideration period you can use the funds as you see fit.
  4. Messy and lot more expensive than retirement. Some agents don't even touch non O marriage and subsequent extension.
  5. If you have intention to work then best to stick with extention based on marriage. You need to work out if you have applied for 60 day extension to visit wife. The paperwork is very different to covid extensions. Plan B could include exit Thailand (border run) reenter visa exempt and place 400k in bank at some stage to obtain new non O. That gives you 90 day stamp. Also being a new entry you can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. All to buy time to organize the 400k.
  6. Up till day of expiry of current permit. Yes. Remember you require 15 days left on permit to apply for the non O
  7. With 2 two months out of Thailand fly back to Bangkok visa exempt or obtain tourist visa. Both will work.
  8. You have a multi entry visa or border run for new visa exempt entry? If the latter then new TM30 required.
  9. Say what. At the very least it will be trip to CW or perhaps sent back to airport immigration (doubt it) Either way set aside a day to save her face. Agree correcting someone should always be done with politeness and manners. This was a blatant mistake.
  10. This same question been done over and over. Rubbish topic. Last one Nov 2022. 7 pages of useless posts. https://aseannow.com/topic/1278841-should-i-carry-passport-with-me-all-the-time/
  11. Cannot understand why anyone would walk away with incorrect entry stamp. Not noticing yep that happens. The whole point was to kill off the non O-A.
  12. There is no limit, however immigration at some point will challenge you on continuous back to back visa exempt entries. They put in place a limit of 2 visa exempt per calendar year some time ago. Would make it simple if they would do the same for visa exempt via air. Perhaps they enjoy giving folk are hard time. Who knows.
  13. This is what I posted..... "......with visa exempt each entry can be extended by 30 days."
  14. That's correct. Passports are the property of issuing government. Without splitting hairs the letter basically gives Thai immigration permission to transfer information.
  15. You can do walk in OR appointment. Appointment system works a treat. Form for non O from visa exempt is TM87 https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=20131
  16. You mention stamped in for 30 days then type TV. Tourist visa gives 60 day stamp Think you mean visa exempt entry. To obtain a non O retirement the critical thing is for her to have a Thai bank account in her name only. Also the application for the non O needs to be made with 15+ days remaining on her permit. She can obtain a 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry.
  17. The airline at departure may require an onward flight. You can buy a cheap throw away ticket or Google companies such as "onward flight.com" By "move to Thailand" what's that mean? Obtain a non O retirement and subsequent extensions
  18. You need to provide 400k in Thai bank account on day you apply. You need 15 days + remaining on your visa exempt stamp to apply. Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only? Does your embassy provide income letter? Some information in this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/990336-converting-visa-exempt-to-non-immigrant-o/
  19. Not the point. For Vietnam you would have required visa on arrival and a "letter of approval" prior to travel. Thailand on the other hand you can enter visa exempt (currently 45days) obtain extension etc etc. Border bounce etc . So many flexible options. Your issues was stamp transfers that you actually did not require.
  20. Interesting..... So you are USA. You require visa to go to Vietnam. Currently only single entry tourist visa 30 day available. Cannot enter visa waiver. Cannot extend your stay. Thailand has MANY easy options by comparison.
  21. Yes you need letter from embassy (unless Oz) . You need to transfer stamps and visa info before you apply for extension. Immigration can do it on same visit.
  22. When a passport is cancelled (sometimes with cut corners etc) The visas , reentry permits , permission of stay stamps etc remain valid.
  23. Each entry from visa exempt or tourist visa can be extended Once. Don't be confused ...if you enter 4 times (or whatever) with visa exempt each entry can be extended by 30 days.
  24. Another option for the onward flight problem is to attend airline desk for boarding pass and if questioned or refused b.pass. Just step away from counter and book cheapest throw away thicket. Obviously you would need internet. Throw away cheapest approx 1500b and "rent a ticket" approx $15usd. Sometimes the supervisor allows you to sign a waiver.
