  1. Indeed, Hua Hin have been requiring letter from embassy for covid extensions. Just another rubbish immigration office.
  2. Since you have not used the 60 to visit wife you can obtain that and hopefully have time to season the funds to obtain extension. You do realize that after under consideration period you can withdraw the money. Simple option. I just assumed that you didn't have the funds. Should have done it already.
  3. That's why I asked. As that's the path I had in mind. Have you used the 60 day extension to visit Thai wife. Just buying time to have land borders an option. Assume your over 50. You could consider extension based on retirement with use of agent. You could consider Phnom Penh for a non O marriage. Here is thread of someone recently doing that.
  4. OP, how did you last enter Thailand. What type of non O can you obtain.
  5. Exactly. Not required. Your 90 count is reset when you return from PP.. Make sure you place 90 from your reentry date into your calendar.
  6. Correct. Every entry starts your clock. I actually never did one for 7 years due to frequent travel. Covid quickly put and end to that.
  7. Which agent. If you run your op past an agent advice given above by several posters will be confirmed. @ThaiVisaCentre
  8. Non O extension is 12 months. You could obtain 60 day extension to visit Thai wife.
  9. Here is a thread that may help. It's old but has some recommendations.
  10. By Sept a land border will be open. Just do a border bounce without reentry permit and from your visa exempt entry obtain a non O retirement at immigration followed be extension. No insurance. Happy days.
  11. I believe at some point they put a limit of 2 tourist visas from Phnom Penh? In any event it will be interesting to see what the attitude from Thai immigration at arrival Thailand would be. Even more so if visa exempt entry (no visa). Some folk have been here for 2 years with amnesty, covid extensions etc. Cannot imagine they would be refused entry and not sure what airlines would do given entry requirements to other countries.
  12. Or country where you are permanent resident.
  13. OP, will help if you state which immigration office you attend and what financial method you use. Income method or money in bank method. The requirements are the same as for extension retirement to a non O with the added gift of compulsory insurance.
  14. Yes. You can obtain a 30 day extension to your visa exempt entry. You can also obtain 60 days to visit wife extension
  15. Good advice. Even then can take a few days. Perhaps someone can recommend an agent for this with first hand experience.
  16. True. Useless policy and hence why everyone is jumping ship. As I understand it Phuket does not insist upon the insurance. I did not realize the cost is 11,400 baht. That is not an insignificant sum. However nor is an exit and reentry. Not to mention your time. Me thinks by May a land border will be open so just keep eye on situation and make your call. As your aware for a new non O you do not need to show the funds came from abroad.
  17. OP, be aware that reentry permit will only be transfered where it was issued. I always obtain mine at airport. When I last had stamps transferred at CW the reentry permit desk told me to go to DMK (where it was issued). I just traveled with both passports for 6 months no problem..
  18. Go with what you feel is best for you. My thinking is that if you pay for one more insurance policy then at some point you (hopefully) can do a quick exit border bounce without reentry permit and reenter visa exempt. You could have all the financials in place and the non O + extension is simple process using money in bank method. How much does the insurance cost.
  19. No problem. Many folk pre covid live in Thailand and do flights in out of places like Saigon. (flight were very cheap pre covid). Some folk ran into problems in particular at DMK airport doing weekend hops and back to Vietnam and similar.
  20. @roo860. You gave a confused emoji re my post that I do not know any agents that obtain annual extensions at CW. Can you share knowledge of agents that do.
  21. That is 2 maximum visa exempt per calendar year via land border. Not very relevant currently. There is no limit to visa exempt entries via Air, however continuous back to back is problematic.
  22. Hopefully this thread contains some info. I'm currently out and not sure if it helps you. Not same extension but has posts about the 2 offices.
  23. Your permit end of April is a positive. Hopefully a land border will be open by then. Would possibly still involve Thailand pass (one night hotel booking). Current thread about this.
