Unless she has spent recent extended periods in Thailand she will not be asked to show money. Aside: pretty sure it was changed to 10k for individual and 20k for family.

O retirement visa 800k seasoning
DrJack54 replied to Adelphi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. As you pointed out the application can be made up to 30/45 days prior to expiry of current permission of stay. In having the bank account back up to 800k that must be done at least 2 months prior to day of application. Lot of folk using this method (including myself) prefer to just leave the 800k+ in the account all year round. Avoids any slip ups -
Question about visa extension (mistake stamp)
DrJack54 replied to waxpro's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I notice in thread couple of different opinions . In your example you changed the basis of the extension from marriage to retirement, the permission of stay will start on day of application. That's different to OP. Seems he applied for 60 day extension to visit family. That extension should start from expiry of current permit. -
It's not like immigration looks the other way. More that overstay fines are not imposed. I mentioned in previous post that I think it's up to age of 15.. Ubonjoe would know the rule in detail. Do you know if this is just a holiday and if so how long is the planned stay.. If only extra 30 days require personally I would obtain an extension. Even though not required.

My post that you complained about stated the following... "From HH a drive to Bangkok is not ideal but not that difficult. Take a flight to Udon Thani for friendship bridge or even fly to Saigon and make a small holiday out of it.". Plus earlier suggestions. Your options are very clear. You stated this...... "If I spend several thousand EUR per month in a country I at least expect something else." Have no idea what that even means in relation to doing border bounce from HH. Myanmar is closed. The options are few and not straight forward.

90 days Report - MTT or CW
DrJack54 replied to ExpatOilWorker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why leave it so late. You can report online and via mail and in person up to 15 days prior. You deal with CW so the mail option window most likely gone. -
90 days Report - MTT or CW
DrJack54 replied to ExpatOilWorker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you had planned ahead you could have done your 90 day report via mail. Enjoy your trip to CW. BTW the new online system has been a game changer for most. Not sure why your report was unsuccessful. For many it has been down to slight address differences. BTW ...Answered your question : CW. Then went to trouble of adding link to online . A laugh emoji.... really. -

Entry back to thailand
DrJack54 replied to pantsonfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are most likely aware of this. When someone is refused entry they don't have options. They are flown back to where the flight originated from. Some advise that they were able to select where they opted to fly to. Take that with grain of salt. It's not impossible but not the norm. You have a TV. You should be fine into BKK -

Visa run from Khao yai?
DrJack54 replied to wannabeamonk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bit off topic. Think may have read your posts previously about your pathway to monk. Is it non R? In any event if you complete that journey I'm sure there would be some interested in report regarding your journey.
