The onward flight that may be required by airline if flying without visa has easy "rent onward flight" option. ~$14 You would not need anything from wife. Since your plan is a 59 day stay your options are tourist visa or visa exempt entry + 30 day extension. Just be aware that in future trips you have many options being married. Tourist Visa. Non O marriage Visa exempt+ extension (both 30 day extension and 60 day extension to visit wife) 1900baht. .......

Don't base your visit around that. How long would you like to stay. There are many options and often best is determined desired length of stay.
-
Assume that you will be applying for extension. As mentioned by others don't apply close to Nov 11. Do it early (up to 30 days) Assume that you have organized financials. If using money in bank method the funds will need to have been in bank account for 2 months on the day you apply for 12 month extension.

Almost refused entry at Suvarnabhumi

Your permission of stay ends the day your divorce is finalized. However immigration is not informed of your divorce so in reality you could stay in Thailand until the expiry of current permit. -
Marriage extension quandary
DrJack54 replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why should they. Thailand has some of the most flexible options for retirement and marriage. Pity it doesn't fit with some folks. Perhaps a ME Non O marriage each year might be an option. Yet another example of Thailand visa options. Geez. -
Marriage extension quandary
DrJack54 replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I didn't suggest early. A 60 extension based on visit wife pushes your permission of stay back by 2 months. Apply for 12 month extension approx Jan 22. Final stamp would be ~ month later -

Some immigration offices start the under consideration period from date of expiry of current permit. If you apply month early then the period can be longer. -

He will have an under consideration report back for final stamp. Might not fit schedule. -

Obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. That will start from November 23. Giving permission of stay till approx Jan 22. Buy a reentry permit for your trips and apply for 12 month extension after you return prior to ~jan 22 -
Re-Entry Visa at Swampy
DrJack54 replied to 4MyEgo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, first post has you covered. You can relax about obtaining reentry permit at airport. Quick easy process. Be aware that BKK has an option of them doing the form, photo etc service fee 200baht (tip). Personally I like to bring the form etc pre done. -
First up it's not visa on arrival. You mean visa exempt entry. Currently that gives a 45 day stamp untill march 31 2023. The onward flight requirement from Airline at departure has "easy get around". Border entries visa exempt also give 45 day stamp. Cannot see any reason for a tourist visa with your plans.

Savannakhet Visa Application
DrJack54 replied to sjbrownderby's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bumping your thread as no replies. Here is old thread and the OP mentions that he provided copy of expired pp and was not an issue. -
You compared tv +30 day extension to visa exempt entry 45 days + border run. Seems silly to me. Tv + extension vs visa exempt+ extension is more sensible comparison. Bottom line 90 vs 75. The border runs can follow from both options. One other "wrong" was the doubts re rent onward flight sites such as "onwardflight.com" Many posts regarding this. In any event do what you want. The options are very clear. The analysis is unimpressive. Don't think I read the length of desired stay. For longer stays it's best to do first one or two entries via air using visa exempt. That keeps tourist visa entries via air up your sleeve. Easily obtained at nearby countries.

One way ticket and Non-O visa.
DrJack54 replied to beeyonder's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As already pointed out.... With a non O visa the airline will not request an onward flight. This type of question comes up often moreso flying without visa. For peace of mind I always suggest having internet access at departure. In the event of any issue a person can step away from check in and buy cheapest confirmed flight in a minute. Having stated that you will not have an issue. -
I will just pick this one point. Others are also incorrect. SETV gives 60 stamp. Visa exempt (currently till March 31 2023) gives 45 day stamp. Both options can be extended by 30 days. So it's 90 vs 75. As for onward flight the "rent a ticket" works without issue and many posts over time confirm this. Cost ~$14 usd. There are other options. Land border entries visa exempt also give 45 days and can be extended by 30. Limit 2 per calendar year. Just choose an option. It isn't rocket science. IMO most folk will not bother with tourist visa during 45 day period for visa exempt.

Went under 400,000 for 6 hours

Talk to immigration. They may offer a compromise. -

Can only use it once per entry to Thailand. Meaning if you have exited and reentered since last 60 day extension then you could obtain another. Edit: seems I'm wrong. As uj pointed out it would need to be new visa to obtain new 60 day extension. -

As I posted in the attached thread above.....I outlined obtaining 60 day extension to visit wife. That will give you enough time to season funds. Of course check with immigration first to ask if they can overlook small oversight. -

OP, current thread running. Have read of those replies. It will be noticed.. The io checks carefully. Most likely overlooked for the amount you mention. As mentioned in one post in that thread .. Using an additional bank account can overcome the problem. -
Trying to help a friend from Oz. I have advice regarding dentists in Thailand however he wishes to have the work done in Vietnam. I have suggested district 1 however do not have any personal recommendations for dentists. He requires full set of crowns etc. 32yr old. TIA.
-
Not silly idea at all. Problem is "elderly with 3 year overstay often = Skint" I wonder if the guy has the 20k plus flight to Oz fare. 14k per year for agent retirement extensions in the past 3 years sounding very nice in hindsight. As the song goes ...hit the road Jack.

He should exit Thailand and pay fine at airport. 20k baht. Assume he has a passport. For the domestic flight they will only look at photo page.

90 day proof of money in the bank
DrJack54 replied to ScotlandtheBrave's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
By all means report on the Friday for peace of mind however it is 100% not necessary. This has come up in other threads and many first hand reports confirming that. If you are close to immigration fine. Only posting this for others. Zero consequences
