Is the Lao Border Run still a thing?
DrJack54 replied to Faranguz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have another thread with same question. In that thread I asked which immigration office you are using. You entered on visa exempt. You should be able to obtain another covid extension. So.... 1. When does current permit expiry. 2. Which immigration office told you that you cannot obtain another CE. 3. Where are you located. -
How to extend for 2 more months?
DrJack54 replied to Faranguz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is correct except you just obtain the 60 day extension to visit wife at the immigration office where your living not at the border. Also note that the 12 month extension has financial requirements. -
Here is what I provided at CW for extension. May be of assistance when you apply. Money in bank method. 1. Bank letter and photocopies bankbook pages. 2. Photocopies of required pages from passport and TM6 (well covered in many threads. 3. Map of my condo location (not hand drawn) 4. Copy first page of lease. (not looked at and I doubt if was required). NOT required: 1. I did not provide a TM30. Note you may need one as it's your first extension. 2. I had original of my last 90 report and she started typing info from it into computer as it was 3 days past due date. I pointed out that I had posted (mail) for current 90 report already. She stopped and pushed the report receipt back to me. 90 report not required. Only photocopies of bank pages required not statements. Note only one set of copies provided.

How to extend for 2 more months?
DrJack54 replied to Faranguz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Where are you located. Which immigration office do you deal with. -
True Pattaya certainly has cheaper prices than Bangkok. It's not uncommon for Bangkok folk to use agents in Pattaya. I sent a mate who lives in BKK to KeyVisa in Pattaya for his non O volunteering about 12 months ago as it was cheaper. Not sure what Bangkok Buddy are charging. Perhaps someone might contribute from direct experience.

No problem. 1900 baht. Note that borders are still closed and covid extensions due to end March 26.

Thai pass insurance query
DrJack54 replied to HKexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't find it simple. Your effectively stating that anyone entering on, for example a tourist visa requires 60 day insurance coverage? What stops them for obtaining insurance for 30 day coverage? -
90 Day online report query
DrJack54 replied to JRG23's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That message sounds like the message you receive from the previous online system. Try the link that ubonjoe posted earlier. Don't use the app or old net site. If you hit link above you receive this on your screen. Register with new password and you should be ok -

Yes. MTT. Your other question about which box....most folk have been ticking second option. When does your current extension expire? -
Thailand Covid Extension requirements
DrJack54 replied to fujitsu's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, which immigration office do you plan to apply for your covid extension? -
No problem. Of course there are all the requirements such as Thailand Pass, insurance etc etc. Surely no one would come to Thailand for 8 days only.
-
Yep. Often folk asking prices. So the non O and also extension approx 25k+ The ongoing annual extensions approx 15k (or less). Open bank account approx 4k. I think the bank account for those entering visa exempt and tourist visa is good option. If they can do the rest themselves re financials then that's a simple process.

Thai pass insurance query
DrJack54 replied to HKexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Correct. Of course you would also need to purchase a reentry permit. Single or multiple depending on your needs. -
Thai pass insurance query

What was your original visa. A non O-A or Non O. For extensions to non O obtained at immigration then insurance is not required. For extensions to non O-A insurance is required. Any entry into Thailand requires insurance currently. BTW if married an extension to non O-A based on marriage does not require insurance. -
As uj stated ...there have been Many folk returning with reentry permits or visas (eg non O) that allow various permission of stay. In case of a non O-A that would be 12 months. They have taken out covid insurance with 30 day coverage without issue. I understand the concern. The very vague statement something like..."insurance to cover intended length of stay" was confusing to say the least.
