  1. Rings a bell. I didn't drink in that row of bars. Last time I was there just pre covid. Nutty Park was dying/dead. Day/Night very quiet. Years ago you would get some folk staying there doing visa runs and the like. Then pretty much only locals. I was just curious the current situation. Always found it relaxed place. Let's face it. Most bar areas decimated. I hear White Sand bars on Koh Chang dead. Saw first hand the bars in Pattaya (Soi 7-8 area) dead. Wonder how many bar owners went under.
  2. Thanks for your post. Just an aside note: Yes I'm aware of the bar area that was demolished long ago on land owned by Bangkok hospital. Zan Zee bar is in Day Night complex. Second bar on left. Oz owner.
  3. Indeed you do. That can be extended by 30 days. You sound as though your coming for a holiday. Have a read of this current thread in News Forum. Travel currently has some level of risk.
  4. Completely different question and nothing to do with both threads you refer to. On an aside, I'm starting to consider using an agent @ 14k. The money is no issue, however I see the agent alternative a good option. 800k tied up for retirement extensions is looking like bad opportunity cost. Also requires a no married guy to make will for Thai partner to cover the 800k+ All of which is off topic. If you have personal issue with agent option then peddle it elsewhere. This thread asked for agent advice.
  5. Therein is the thing I missed in my first post. You extended just 2 days prior to permit ending. Hence approx 30 day under consideration period. If you had applied for extension 30 days prior then it would be different.
  6. You meet financial requirements or you don't. Your indicating very naive understanding of immigration offices. One thing many are extremely anal on is the financial requirements. That's it. Off topic nonsense.
  7. Last comment. Which thread did guy have 800k in Thai bank account. The 2 threads I clearly referred to were not in that situation. Please read thread heading. "Agent recommendation...." Geez
  8. How are you helping either OP. The one in this thread specifically asked for agent recommendation and the other with chap was ill and ended up using an agent. Please put your attention into helping guys with questions rather than sidetrack. Ignore on now
  9. OP words, in this thread. "Any recommendations for agent for 12 month retirement Non O extension. Advice appreciated." The other thread dealt with an OP helping ill friend. That friend ended up using agent. I was relating his decision and use of agent 14k. I gave advice. What is yours? BTW bit over you misinformed posts.
  10. What you outline will work. You may wish to consider the 12 month extension and obtain reentry permit if need to exit and return. After 12 months the options may be (hopefully) back to semi normal.
  11. Yep as usual UJ answer covered it. I foolishly overlooked fact that you can apply 30 days early. The 45 days came up as at places such as CW, CM and few others you can apply up to 45 days prior.
  12. So long time since I've been up to UT. Are the bars open again February. Meaning Day Night area and places like Sports Bar. Must have done it tough. Guess few have closed permanently? My go to was Zan Zee bar.
  13. Good news. This confirms similar reports.. One guy from forum actually asked io (recently) what are the consequences of not returning after three months and was told point plank..."nothing". About time that nonsense was dropped. BTW doubt if your TM30 and 90 report receipt was required. Surprised it wasn't just handed back.
  14. Not sure I follow. When an application is refused at immigration they can give a refusal and 7 day notice to exit Thailand (it's not an extension). If someone applies for a covid extension and is given an 'under consideration period'.... the application is approved. Your just required to return for your final stamp. Have you read a report where someone returned and final stamp not given?
  15. With the map thing, I can understand it for extensions marriage as would perhaps assist with home visit. For retirement I don't understand why it's required.
  16. That's a good deal. In a current parallel thread, the OP used this agent and paid 14k. Good price.
  17. You can obtain 60 day extension "to visit wife". The extension will start from end of current permit. Good option. If you were remaining in Thailand you could have obtained 12 month extension. Just mentioned for future visits.
  18. Interesting. So the extension fee is 1900 baht. You paid extra directly to io? Also you still had an " under consideration period" or all approved on the spot.
  19. Maneerat is recommended by many and if your happy with price go for it. Folk should also discuss the ongoing 90 day reports with agent..
  20. Yep you no longer require insurance since your able to obtain extensions based on marriage. For non married guys the only option is to exit Thailand to kill off the non O-A and and obtain a Non O retirement. That also avoids the insurance requirement. An option that many have done in recent times.
  21. Granted price point is often the main thing for many. I prefer to deal with recommended along with reviews etc. As one poster mentioned above... a physical presence is a must. Meaning an office. There are good agents that don't have an office but I never suggest them. Obviously they are cheaper. The ones mentioned in this thread do have offices.
  22. Obviously your pp and yes undated bank book in case they wish to see the 400k. No wife.
  23. @samuttodd Did you answer this previous question from Crossley ..........are you talking about getting an extension to your permission to stay or simply your 90 day report?
  24. OP, have a go at this new improved online report. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/register/add
