Thanks. Good example of how AseanNow can throw up advice. On Agoda I wasn't looking anywhere near there. Being familiar with Koh Samed, I had only look area close to pier area. Have own transport so Lord Nelson could be good option.

Australian Citizen Return.
DrJack54 replied to Fraser Brown's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You won't need to show where your 800k came from as has been in Thai bank for some time. The plan you outline is fine. After your non O retirement you will be applying for a "12 month extension" I obtained same extension last week at CW. Here is link. -
21 days? Fed up with waiting ..
DrJack54 replied to Marjf's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Here is my earlier post and reply from ubonjoe. Non O-A is only available from your home country or country where you have permanent residence. First quote from myself and second from ubonjoe. Are you a PR of Vietnam? 1. "Non O-A only available in home country. In your case UK. Same applies to METV." 2. "Or in a country you are a permanent resident of" Having said that....you have obtained a non O-A in HCMC so it's of interest as to what paperwork you submitted. -
Yes Pattaya forum however thought someone may have suggestions. So we are off to Koh Samet (our standard go to joint) and the gf has just now thrown a curve ball of also wanting to stay mainland beach in general area for few nights. Have a car. I'm not familiar and would really appreciate any advice. Yes looked at Agoda but can't beat first hand advice. Thanks.

Just bumping your thread as I have same intention. Have had the 2 shots and can show on the app. Is that's all that's needed. Same as OP, if anything else required I won't bother.

Volunteer visas on hold
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This is what I received from agent that has organized these in the past...... ”They are no longer available at the moment due to the recent shift in positions. Hopefully this changes soon." My suggestion would be to take that option off the table. -
current border hop situation
DrJack54 replied to STD Warehouse's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Think you will find that it's not for the duration of stay. It's required for the period that you will be stamped in for. That's down to how you enter be it visa exempt, tourist visa, reentry permit etc. -
First up he bagged a visa company then added this..... "Yes, many people are happy with their service so it has to be good," Then stated this .. "If its your first time my agency will charge you max 30K. from second time its max 18K" Which is fine however numerous posts throughout the 5 pages pointing out 25k for the non O with Extension and ~ 15k for extension only Also stated this in relation to agent he mentioned...... "but if you will get what you want for the half price of them..." Meaning that company he canned charges 60k then ongoing 30k ... nup

Dont see the point of what your saying. Sounds vindictive and confusing. If someone asks for recommendation by all means provide one.

Thanks was aware of that. It's just with statements such as ..... "Heard maybe police check if apply in Thailand for OA visa" From same poster made me doubt he was permanent resident of Vietnam. Guess it's possible. -

OP, you have no issues. Basically your steps are 1. Return with visa exempt entry. 2. Apply for non O retirement at immigration. That gives you a 90 day permit stamp. 3. With 30 days remaining on non O permit obtain your annual extension. Walk in the park. As to your other items such as passport renewal etc, that's up to you. Personally if it fits in time wise I would obtain new pp while in USA. That way all the stamps from date of reentry will be in new pp. No need to transfer stamps. Which immigration office will you deal with.

Extension retirement at CW report.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First up here is report of extension retirement I did on Tues 2nd last week at CW You only need one passport style picture for ONE TM7 extension application form. Everything I was required to show is outlined in that thread. You will note that at CW there are banks on basement level. As outlined in report you can obtain bank letter on day of application and make small deposit. No offense but in future do it yourself. Nothing could be more simple. Seriously read the list of what I provided and you will see how easy it is. Note that there is stall that does all photocopying and photos etc. It's on same level as banks. One last thing ...SCB does not have a branch at CW. Edit: I just realized I posted you link to same thread we are in. Time for coffee. -
Now I feel ignorant. I had to Google String Theory. In physics, string theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings .... Keep in mind that in my yr 12 physics we used slide rules. Visa matters are fluid due to the sentence many type... "every immigration office and officer can have their own rules"

Extension retirement at CW report.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Apart from passport type photo that goes on back of TM7 extension form, no other photos are required. The photos you describe are for extensions based on marriage. Which immigration office are you using? -

Thailand Pass Is Up And Running
DrJack54 replied to ubonjoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He is lucky normally costs...... Once you renounce your US citizenship, you will no longer have to pay US taxes. However, the US government does charge a fee of $2,350 to relinquish citizenship Seriously a thread advising how to obtain a TP and help with issues has now reached 50 pages in One week. To think that these questions etc are coming from often IT savy folk just shows how's messed up and difficult it is. I read posts of "being incognito mode" using "edge instead of chrome" etc etc. How does the run of the mill punter plan a trip to Thailand. Absolute joke.
