O-A visa Health Insurance
DrJack54 replied to Alphim's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good plan. Depending on when your current permission of stay ends you could consider doing one more extension with the required insurance. In time when land borders open the border bounce and enter visa exempt would be easy option to obtain your new non O. -
Chaeng Watthana Retirement Extension trip
DrJack54 replied to ThailandRyan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's a main bug bear of mine regarding the different requirements at the 70+ immigration offices and sometimes even different at the same office. Whenever someone asks a question about attending immigration for whatever ... The first question that folk trying to help ask is .."which immigration office are you dealing with" It's a joke. You would think that there would be one set of requirements that would be a standard for each and every office or at very least list for each office. So just in this thread alone we have posts of TM30 required and 90 report required along with reports of not being required. Hells Bells. -

Chaeng Watthana Retirement Extension trip
DrJack54 replied to ThailandRyan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This might be incorrect, however there was change in imm boss and the TM30 became the new kid on the block. Places such as CW that had never required tm30 all of a sudden same as most imm offices were hitting folk up for fine. I do my extensions every October and missed the "crack down" on TM30. So my extension in 2018,19,20 I did not provide TM30. Will find out next week and give report of my extension CW from non O based on retirement using money in bank method. -
Forums are for individuals to post an opinion. Ones man's trash is another's treasure. Post your opinion. Doubt I would bother with a reply.

That has been my experience. They have (should have) nothing to do with annual extension. -

Thanks however have never done a TM30. Has never been required at CW for my annual extensions. For my first ever 90 report it was not required nor for when I obtained COR for drivers license. Even previously when TM30 was required for staying away from residence (different province and even out of country) I never filed one. -

Thanks @ThailandRyan for report. It seems that both Ryan and @TallGuyJohninBKK provided a TM30 with the other docs. Has anyone else recently obtained extension (retirement) from non O at CW and had to supply TM30? I have done 10 there and that was never a requirement. Have never changed address either. If it's a new requirement I will need to obtain one as doing my extension next week. Previously just supplied copy of my lease. -
If that floats your boat then that's sad. Like some I got a kick out of huge houses and flash cars etc in mid life, however you quickly grow out of that.

Has the Covid extension been extended?
DrJack54 replied to pineappleglory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
One month? You can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. Yes covid extension available till Nov 27 as mentioned above. Link for affidavit that you sign. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=727659 -
You can do your 90 report has nothing to do with extension. The requirements for your extension will be same this year. If you are outside of Thailand when your extension expires you could enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain a non O inside Thailand and then 12 month extension. You would need to have the financial requirements in place prior to returning to Thailand as visa exempt is only 30 days. Note you can obtain 30 extension to visa exempt if time is an issue. You can obtain new non O in USA.

Don't try and be too clever. This is part of post I replied to.... "are we required to purchase Covid insurance when re-entering Thailand having a Non-O retirement visa?" He stated enter with a non O RT VISA. If he entered with a non O VISA he would be stamped in for 90 days. I realized that he meant that he had an extension and the second half of my post pointed that out... "if you actually mean reenter with a reentry permit the insurance needs to cover till date on your reentry permit" Don't start with "this is not correct" when it is correct.

Worried about my marriage extension.
DrJack54 replied to PeterSmith1971's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
When does your current permission of stay end. When you obtain your 12 month extension your permission of stay will be for another 12 months from that date. Reentry permit does not add any time. -
Hope this is not dismissive but personally I think you are worrying prematurely. Also no need to get married. If you can place 800k in a Thai bank and just leave it, then do annual extensions based on retirement. True vaccinations may become required for some jobs but really that's of no concern to you. Re multiple reentry permit they are 3800baht and unlimited entries. My vote goes to annual extensions from a non O based on retirement. Personally I would choose that option even if I was married. Chill.....
