Coming Back to Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to MichaelJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I wouldn't call it a BIG mistake. Putting fact you have Thai son aside for the moment.....the only added burden of requirements for extension based on retirement for non O vs non O-A is the 40/400 insurance requirement. Just continue with extensions from your non O-A. Hopefully in a year borders will be open and you can kill off your non O-A and either obtain a non O in Thailand after border bounce and visa exempt entry or obtain non O at Thai consulate nearby country. Laos is popular. -
Covid extension for STV?
DrJack54 replied to sallecc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes however you may need to apply for a 'standard' 30 day extension prior to obtaining covid extension. -

Arrival card kept by officer
DrJack54 replied to Tayida's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The OP, just posed a hypothetical question and the answer is no. Yes departure card is handed back. If you lose it and your next involvement with immigration is simply departure from Thailand then you need do nothing. Arrival/departure card can be obtained at airport. If you need to deal with immigration for things such as 90 report, extensions etc then you need obtain new TM6 at immigration. You may need to make police report that it was lost. Depends on imm office. -
Is the online 90 day reporting working?
DrJack54 replied to kleber06's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It has been used recently with success and prior to that was down. With the message your receiving you will most likely need to do it in person or via mail. Done my last few via mail as the online system has booted me. Common problem. -
When does your current permission of stay end. You can obtain covid extensions up till late November. You could obtain covid extension late Nov and be able to stay untill late Jan (depending on current permit end date). Perhaps by then a land border might be open. If they are not then covid extensions could be continued.

Covid extension for STV?
DrJack54 replied to sallecc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It was not possible previously and doubt anything will change. With or without agent. To obtain a non O you would need to exit and reenter. When does your current permit end. You can obtain another covid extension up till late Nov which will have you covered till late Jan. Depending when you current permit ends. -

Staying in Thailand 90 days
DrJack54 replied to Johnyboy18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think she made a mistake. BTW it's up to you to check the number of days given is correct. 60 day extension is given for 'extension to visit wife' An covid extension is also 60 days. All extensions are 1900baht. -

You will obtain a covid extension. Obviously keep the 800k in the bank. When you reach that time when it's been there for 2 months go again and obtain your 12 month extension based on retirement. You can changed to based on marriage for the following extension.

Onward flight cancelled
DrJack54 replied to Eugen63's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do you have printout showing confirmed payment? Airline would not check booking. Check in early and in absolute worse case scenario be ready to book online another flight. Obviously you would need wifi access and credit card etc to pay.
