Required for first extension, apart from Bank account which you need for non O If you enter tourist visa or visa exempt you can obtain extension if you need time to open bank account. Note that you can use an agent for that if needed. Your going to need the bank account at some stage anyway. Personally I would obtain the non O in Thailand. You would need 400k in Thai bank on the day you apply for the non O and have it in bank for 2 months for extension. You can obtain extension to visit wife (60day) if you need to buy time. BTW if you obtain the non O in UK you will need the 40/400k insurance. Not needed for tourist and visa exempt entry. Edit: Note ubonjoe correction to my post re insurance. Not required obtaining non O marriage in UK.

Moving visa stamp to another passport
DrJack54 replied to OnTheLash's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, your making simple difficult. Apply for a new passport to replace the one with stamps and is almost full. Your reentry permit will be transfered however as for your original visa (non O or O-A) the information about that visa will be transfered into first page of new pp with some notation. You need letter from your embassy to give to Thai immigration. -
90 day report - first time
DrJack54 replied to tarzanet's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thats correct. Referred to as a TM30. Ask your hotel to make sure they file a TM30. You will need one for future covid extension if still available when your current extension ends. I don't think a 90 report will be required. Drop into immigration when your in Pattaya. -
90 day report - first time
DrJack54 replied to tarzanet's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How did you enter Thailand. Meaning tourist visa, visa exempt etc? You should not have to do 90 day report. When does your current extension end and when are you planning on going to Pattaya. -
So I have already given many thanking you emojis..... Now comes the biggie. I followed simple instructions on the vids that @Bruno123 supplied and low and behold now have English. Yes those reading pointing stupid stick at me and that's fair enough. However I did have a Thai TV set up guy come to condo. When after long time of trying unsuccessfully he could not change to English I just accepted it. Supposedly (according to the maintenance guys in condo) he is internet/TV whiz. He needs view the "change of language" vids posted by Bruno. SO happy that the language is in English. Big thanks. Good example of helpfulness of AseanNow now and some switched on members.

Dr. Nithi added that the Academy also focuses on conducting research into COVID-19 vaccines in Thailand and plans to conduct systematic and concurrent research to confirm the immune response in the country’s environment, starting from the end of this year. oh, so it's a promo piece. Just another useless stage show. In Oz we call it ...."Look at ME, Look at ME"

Will do. Finally I have something to do on my "to do list" The final hurdle will be the tv itself. Again ta for all advice.
-
So that speed ok to watch a movie,? Obviously will also check out DTAC to compare. Sounds like you might lean to the later.

@Bruno123 So I put some data on MY phone and hit link you provided. Pics attached. Upload and download
-
From my phone using condo wifi.
-
@Bruno123 Soooo Very helpful and appreciated. Side comment. Been Thailand same condo 10 years now and the TV thing has never been a concern. Covid and changes in lifestyle has me looking at more tv options. Hence there is no immediate rush. With your advice given I can move to first step of checking speed etc as outlined and links you provided also look into the provider you suggested. I won't worry about dealing with condo and will just move to wifi provider when things have been worked out. BTW I don't even have PC. So you have given me the advice for steps to follow and will do that tomorrow. Cheers.

Thanks Bruno, I will follow your advice re the buy data and do speed tests tomorrow. Sounds weird but I don't use phone in typical way. If I need data the gf buys using her phone. I don't even use my cell for phone calls using True. BTW the gf is paying 321baht per month. Only free extra is free calls to True customers. Just read your post above. Re about the speed.....if I get gf to put credit on my account now then maybe it will be 4mbps same as hers. I realize this next comment is another Simplist one.....I will be surprised if my location is issue for speed give central location Bangkok and room is on outside of building with Balconies etc. Anyway will get data tomorrow separate from having gf top up my sim
-
I've taken too much of your time already. I will talk to true and buy data to check speed. She just informs me that she buys slow package 4mpbs. So it's most likely down to that. Her cell is an S20.

-
One last dumb question from me. So the gf also uses True sim and has a monthly data package. So I can just do the speed test with her phone. She doesn't use condo wifi.
-
First up thanks for taking the time to provide so much advice. I quoted one sentence of yours above. Is it silly to just obtain a 4g router straight up. I mean after checking the speed as you outlined. Are the boxes you refer to the same as in attachment.

I'm a fan of Phuket. More recent years partial to Phuket town small music venues. Jazz Blues style. Obviously some drinks if you want. My point is that if you offered me free flights etc to Phuket I would knock it back. I can understand folk with family etc wanting to come to Thailand. As for tourists would need rocks in their head.
