That is only for obtaining a non O retirement within Thailand. There is no requirement to show funds from abroad for extensions both based on marriage or retirement.

ME non O marriage available at Savannakhet but not at Vientiane. One advantage with the ME Non O is it does not have the financial requirements required to extention to non O . Also no home visit etc.

Years gone by had a reputation as being difficult however that seemed to have changed. Be aware that if you wish to deal with another office you would require a TM30 change of address. You need to deal with the office where you live.. CW is good and very professional.

Think you mean border bounce for visa exempt entry. Yes 45 day stamp given. From Bangkok one option would be flight to Udon Thani and one hour mini van to Nong Khai.

The onward flight that may be required by airline if flying without visa has easy "rent onward flight" option. ~$14 You would not need anything from wife. Since your plan is a 59 day stay your options are tourist visa or visa exempt entry + 30 day extension. Just be aware that in future trips you have many options being married. Tourist Visa. Non O marriage Visa exempt+ extension (both 30 day extension and 60 day extension to visit wife) 1900baht. .......

Don't base your visit around that. How long would you like to stay. There are many options and often best is determined desired length of stay.
