  1. Don't know what your 'Thailand trip' involves.......however check places out prior to travel as many things are closed and I don't just mean bars and eateries.
  2. Sounds horrible. So today after release your free so to speak. What's the plan.....just grab a hotel somewhere? Obviously your aware of the restrictions currently in place. You can travel inter province as those restrictions are flexible.
  3. What are the conditions like? 3 square a day? Showers, toilets, snacks........etc So is it a hotel similar to staying ASQ?
  4. Correct. Bit of irony that someone could obtain a covid extension by providing an affidavit and tick box with reason cannot leave Thailand and at same time nip back to the USA and return with a reentry permit. BTW OP, you mention "reapply for another Thai visa" Your referring to new tourist visa. Yes you could do that or return visa exempt. Of course all the other requirements still in place.
  5. Similar rate of what? Certainly not similar level of vaccinations. Daily new infections.....deaths?
  6. UK, USA, AU don't provide embassy letter. Yes folk can use income or money in bank. Less issues with immigration with money in bank method, however both possible.
  7. OP, as mentioned above....what your asking about is referred to as 'combination method'. It combines monthly income with amount in the bank. Not the most common as seems many folk use either money in the bank or income. Note that some immigration offices are not keen on combination method. Which immigration office do you use.
  8. I agree with you. Perhaps I'm jaded, however for almost every thread, to me the name of office should be #1. So many offices do things slightly differently and without that info it's a waste of time.
  9. You can enter visa exempt or tourist visa and obtain a non O at immigration.
  10. After your visa exempt or tourist visa entry, they will make you obtain the 'standard' 30 day extension. After that you can obtain 60 day covid extension. Print this affidavit that they will provide but nice to have it. Basically tick box. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=727659
  11. Small tip with that link. When you open it there is central open area with few paragraphs of info. Not useful. At bottom there is box to tick "I agree". That won't work untill you go to the area with advice and scroll down to the end where you tick box for "accept terms and conditions". If you have no success just do it in person or via mail. Good luck.
  12. OP, try this one https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.do
  13. So have you done a report previously. Which immigration office are you dealing with. If it's your first report you cannot do it online, however you can do it in person or via mail.
  14. What do you mean by online reporting. I assume your referring to 90 day report and Yes that can be done online. Have you done a 90 day report previously?
  15. If indeed he is referring to annual extension then I suggest he get someone to help him because he doesn't have a clue. If he had even remotely looked into what is required for annual extension he would not be asking that question.
  16. Ta. Thought as much. BTW if yourself or any American can assist the OP in another thread. ."visas to other countries" can possibly give him advice in that forum.
  17. So to be clear. Your son is American. His girlfriend is Thai and together they have a child that has a USA passport?
  18. First up, I wouldn't recommend a non O-A in current situation. As for non O retirement, think USA not that long ago made that available. Might wish to check update on that. If you enter Thailand on visa exempt or tourist visa you can obtain a non O retirement at immigration. Note there is current thread with OP report about exactly that process. Obtaining non o after visa exempt entry. Your non O gives you 90 permit to stay in Thailand. In it's last 30 days you apply for 12 month extension to your permission of stay..
  19. Doubt it ....note these words at start. "We did not and had a nasty 20,000b/p" 20,000baht per person (b/p) 'She' wasn't Thai. Anyway weird OP. Lucky avoided jail. Stay safe everyone.
  20. If you applied for a non O-A you would not be given a non O by default. Did you really apply for the O-A with police check etc etc. The reporting for both visas is the same 90 day report. On arrival you are given an entry stamp with an "admitted till" date. The non O would give you 90 days and non O-A a full year. Apparently you did not look at these stamps. You were on overstay after the 90 days and received max fine of 20k. Damn lucky that you were not arrested and deported. Live and learn.
  21. Just to add to previous post re vaccination centre. The gf had 10am appointment. Arrived at 9.30am. Just now finished at 9.50am. waiting the 30min recovery period. The AZ vaccine was from Japan. Not Thai.
  22. Vaccine experience can vary. The gf just now. That's not a queue! Go to Bang Sue for true experience.
  23. Time to drag out your Supertramp records. Dreamer....
  24. I realize many not interested in numbers for Vietnam, however that's another place where the numbers bounce around. Back up to ~9700 and deaths 381.
