  1. Went to my amphur, head of tax office said no need to fill tax form in. I am lucky in that if it all goes pair shaped I still have a house in the uk. I will just leave, I have had 15 great retirement years already, so no problem for me
  2. A few years ago my friend installed his own water filter. The guy who fitted it also did a test on it, my friend up to then used to get the very large container bottles you see being delivered on the back of pickups. The guy did a test on the remainder of water in the said bottles, much to my friends dismay the quality of water was way below standard of the filtered water he had just installed
  3. I have used this type of machine for 8 months, never checked, never had any issues
  4. I still have my old TM6 😭😭 I will plead ignorant
  5. Just came back from my local Revenue Office. Took with me everything which I needed. The lady looked at everything but obviously was not 100% certain on the matter. She went to get her superior. Superior asked me several questions. Which country do you get your income paid? Do you work in Thailand? Do you pay tax on your income in the UK? Do you have evidence that you pay tax in the UK? After answering the questions and providing evidence, the lady informed me that there is no need to fill a tax form in Thailand. If I decided to change and pay tax on my UK income in Thailand then I would need to fill in a form. So for me until there is a clear instruction I will just carry on as normal

  8. I am only 62 kg, so I usually do not have a problem but just occasionally it is the elbows that annoy me
  9. Dedicated path/promenade
  10. Nong Khai far nicer. You can walk/bicycle 12/15 km by the side of the Mekong river. UD has Central Plaza for me that is the only bonus, you can catch the train there for the day, cost 11 baht each way (train station in the middle of the city)
  11. Someone told me that there is/was a major fire in Laos. Nong Khai has also been bad
  12. Don't care what anyone says but all women marry for security and when that starts to get rocky, they start looking for more security
  13. When I was a green horn 15 year old working as a apprentice, my boss (RIP) said to me "the more people have, the more people want". That statement has stayed with me all my life (now 72). I am lucky, I am a happy person, always wake in the same frame of mind every day. Greed WILL eventually destroy the world.
  14. Colonoscopy Loei general 9,000 baht
  15. I just paid mine through the app two days ago
  16. Do you have the 3BB app on your phone? This will tell you when your payment is due, you can also pay your bill through this
  17. Really good post. I left the UK 15 years ago and I have not regretted it for one single minute
  18. My friend who is Thai employed a day nurse to look after her expat husband (came to the house 6 days a week) Don't know what the cost was
  19. Sometimes works the other way. I was in my local and I came to check the bill. I had two red wines, the bill was for 100 baht and I knew immediately that they had only charged me for one, I told them and they thanked me
  20. Won't make any difference here in sleepy Issaan
  21. Different provinces, different people/rules
  22. You are correct but over the years I have had many who you have mentioned refuse
  23. This is a grey area. Just did mine through my bank manager (one very accommodating, the other did not want to know) Tessabarn did one for my friend, immigration possibly. Good luck
  24. You do in the city I live in Issaan, you even get a free glass of water with your coffee
