I find the present-day culture an affront to good taste. Let me clarify that for you, you find these things an affront to your own idea of what constitutes ‘good taste’. Our cultural roots are not eroding, they are continually evolving, just like they always have. They are the product of millennia of culture mingling, something that should not need explaining to anyone who claims to know anything about the culture of art and music.

So no blues, jazz, rock n roll, gospel/spiritual, soul, funk, Motown, R&B, ragtime, disco…. Just the Bach you probably never listen to, Van Gogh you have probably never seen and impressionists/post impressionist you probably can’t distinguish. Feigning cultural tastes while dismissing the culture that has been the major source of musical creativity and development for well over a century.

I should take that up with those ranting against asylum seekers and Muslims, especially those engaging in rioting and other forms of violence on the basis of a willingness to believe the false reports and misinformation.
