Classified documents copied onto a laptop and a thumb drive. This raises a number of questions. Why where these classified documents copied? Why where these copied classified documents placed into the laptop? Why where these copied classified documents placed on the thumb drive? When where these classified documents copied? On who’s authority? Who was aware these copied classified documents were on the lap top and thumb nail? Who had access to the laptop and thumb drive? Were the copied classified documents on the laptop and thumb drive ever accessed on or copied to any other computer? What’s the laptop ever connected to the internet after the files were copied onto it? Where the copied classified documents ever transferred in mails or to servers? What level of security, if any, was applied to the laptop and thumb nail? Do we need a Congressional Investigation?!

Things will not change while ever voters subscribe to the fatalism of all Governments being corrupt. It’s a fatalism that is plays right into the hands of the very people who are actually corrupt. -
The only question applicable to the subject of discussion is how is President Biden going to fund Social Security. The President has made very clear statements on where on the income scales he will not raise taxes. So sorry, I’m not interested in your continuing baiting over months across multiple threads.

How the Wealthy Save Billions in Taxes by Skirting a Century-Old Law

Yep, that’s an example of how the rich avoid taxes. And an example of a loophole that is easy to plug without any impact on the vast majority of working people. -
Excellent. Thank you for posting. Despite the clear bipartisan support amongst the electorate the problem remains getting the intransigent Republicans within Congress to back proposals that deliver what voters want. Rightwing extremists within the Republican Party wish to see the Social Security budget placed under annual Congressional approval, which would undoubtedly turn it into a blackmailing chip with those reliant on Social Security being the being the pawns in play.

Let me correct you. Under the topic of discussion (US President Biden has yet to say just how he would strengthen Social Security and Medicare trust funds) what matters is pledges President Biden has made on who will not pay higher taxes. I’ve suggested raising taxes on the rich and in particular the hyper wealthy. So let’s see what US President Biden has said about who’s taxes will not go up: Firstly he has this to say: “Joe Biden believes that there’s no greater economic engine in the world than the hard work and ingenuity of the American people. But for too long, the economy has worked great for those at the top, while working families continually get squeezed.” I think most Americans will agree with that. He then adds this: “Under this historic agreement, nobody earning less than $400,000 per year will pay a penny more in taxes.” And from Biden’s 2022 ‘State of the Union Speech’: “Biden reiterated a promise not to raise taxes on households with annual income below $400,000, a pledge he's made since his presidential campaign.” Therefore any increases in taxes to fund social security must under Biden’s pledge and campaign promises not be funded by raising taxes on anyone earning less than $400,000. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/10/28/president-biden-announces-the-build-back-better-framework/ https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/03/02/biden-reiterates-400000-tax-pledge-to-fund-agenda.html

SpaceX admits blocking Ukrainian troops from using satellite technology
Chomper Higgot replied to Scott's topic in World News
SpaceX has established market dominance over the Ukrainian battlefield internet services, with backing of US tax dollars. SpaceX and Musk himself have also benefitted from significant positive PR coverage from the provision of satellite based internet services to Ukraine. Having established this dominance and dependence Musk is now engaging in extortion, restricting access for Ukrainian military at precisely the moment Russia launched a new offensive. Putin must be thrilled. -

“For his [Musk’s] proposal for peace talks in ukraine he was condemned by zelensky and put on mirotvorec hit list.” Which dodges the facts of what Musk’s proposal was. https://www.forbes.com/sites/petersuciu/2022/10/05/elon-musk-offered-a-solution-to-ending-the-ukraine-war-on-twitter--is-social-media-the-place-to-shape-a-countrys-future/amp/ -

A pattern emerges. -
There’s always an excuse for doing nothing. The UK and the British public in particular have every right to be proud of their long history of generosity through charitable donations to help those in need in other parts of the world. I’m quite certain the British public will step up again and give help to victims of this earthquake, people in desperate need being helped by people renowned for their generosity.

No it isn’t ‘whataboutism’ it is directly related to the issue. The NYP held back the Hunter Biden Laptop ‘story’ for 10 months, releasing as a pre-election ‘shocker’. Twitter held it back for 24 hours. Cue rightwing outrage. The ‘shameless Election Interference’ was from Murdoch’s NYP. The rightwing outrage arises because Twitter interrupted the NYP attempt at election interference for 24 hours.

Agreed. A more relevant example would be the New York Post first receiving the Hunter Biden Laptop ‘story’ in December 2019 and reporting it in October 2020 as an election spoiler and the part Giuliani played in providing stolen data to the NYP. NYP journalist refused to have their name attached to the reporting and one NYP journalist had her name attached without her prior knowledge or agreement. Sorry if this has added to your righteous outrage, but I’m sure you’ll appreciate the broader picture.
