All of Trump’s failings where overtly apparent before he was elected, his lies and deceit where clear in his campaign promises and are all that he achieved as President. The time for the GOP to ‘nut up’ was when they had the opportunity to convict him at his impeachment trial. The GOP are owned by their slavish obedience to Trump. The GOP don’t simply need to rid themselves of Trump, they need to rid the party of Trumpism and return to presenting policies that are not based on hatred, fear, controlling women’s bodies, scapegoating immigrants, gerrymandering and religious extremism.
