  1. Unless my meter is out of whack, yes. I did have it up to 500 about 3 years ago. My 40 reading was from yesterday. It's now 116, time to crank up the air purifiers.
  2. The Arab would probably still be scrubbing his backside with sand if it was not for oil. Buying a million pound watch does not make him smart or educated, quite the opposite.
  3. Treatment by authorities only removes those dissolved anions and cations which are amenable to treatment. E.g phosphate, iron and zinc. Sodium chloride is not removed by flocculation. Only RO or distillation does that.
  4. IMO the inequality that exists, when 3 multi-billionaires in America have more wealth than 150 million of its citizens, is more troubling. And it will get worse. I don't have a great deal of wealth, and I live simply. I am only wealthy compared to many Thais. Thais do have the advantage of strong social and family networks. They are much better at taking care of their elderly and incapacitated. I do tip more generously than most Thais would. I see no reason to feel uncomfortable about money I have. I earned it with hard work.
  5. Chiang Rai is OK. It got up to 75 in my condo, a rain storm two nights ago pushed it back down to 40.
  6. That tells me Americans are among the chief contributors to climate change. A few more hurricanes and wild fires are needed to get the message across. Or a bigger sea level rise on the eastern seaboard. The bigger the GDP gap gets, the more probable the BRICS will set up a rival reserve currency. That status is the only reason the US can keep printing money, without going into hyperinflation.
  7. China has 48,000 km of high speed rail. The USA has 80 km. What does that tell you? The combined GDP of the G7 countries is now less than the BRICS countries.
  8. In 1947 America produced over 50% of the world's steel. Now, its production is one-tenth of China's. The traditional provider : home maker combination hierarchy has shrunk considerably.
  9. Was the war worth it for Russia? More weeping widows and fatherless children. A ruined economy, a collapsing demographic. An armaments industry which is a laughing stock. A currency no one wants, shut out from the world's banking system. Yes , life can be a bitch, and it has obviously twisted you badly.
  10. The farmers and builders who want the cheap labor are not leftists. They are Republicans, and Trump supporters. More fool them. https://www.aginfo.net/report/58605/Southeast-Regional-Ag-News/Agri-Pulse-Poll-Shows-Farmers-Support-Donald-Trump
  11. Sodium chloride is inorganic, and ubiquitous in all foods. It is quite natural, our oceans are 4% NaCl. Organo-chlorines are entirely man made. There is nothing natural about them. I can only conclude from your posts you are being deliberately thick. Goodbye.
  12. Having a family history of cancer is all the more reason to avoid organo-chlorines. Up to you. Massaging the language of studies to give a favorable impression is nothing new. I remember some compound given to mice, reporting on their offspring. The report said the mice were born "visually impaired". That was preferable to saying the mice were born without eyes. Certainly there are a few people who live to a ripe old age drinking whisky. There are statistically far more that need a portal shunt, or die defecating blood.
  13. Limited to the sugar in fruit.
  14. Where is the money coming from for urban renewal? I doubt it is in the city tax base.
  15. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Animal studies are basically useless. Every species responds differently to a toxin. How many of the 110 studies in humans were conducted over 20-30 years, to determine long-term effects?
  16. I am consuming protein, a small amount of fat, collagen, and low carb vegetables. My BMI is normal.
  17. Salt is an inorganic compound. One chlorine atom. Sucralose ( Splenda ) has three chlorine atoms substituted for hydroxyl groups. Chlorine in most organic molecules interacts with the kidneys and liver. Most organo-chlorines are lipophilic. IIRC about 90% of synthetic medications have one or more chlorine atoms somewhere in the compound. OTOH, stevia is plant-derived, naturally occurring glycosides.
  18. I only looked as far as the Robusta. Maybe I am not as meticulous as you.
  19. Splenda is heavily chlorinated sugar. Heaven knows what it does to the kidneys and liver, and I don't want to find out.
  20. Each to his own. Stevia tastes better than regular sugar to me.
  21. So can a Mazda2, or a Toyota Vios.
  22. Exactly the same experience as I had.
  23. AFAIK Ukraine is not bombing hospitals and schools.
  24. I beg to differ. Only an idiot would launch a war based on intelligence that told him what he wanted to hear.
  25. So if the Chinese came for New Zealand, you'd be laying out the welcome mat?
