Easy to call someone a spineless coward from behind the anonymity of a keyboard. I would suggest attendance at anger management groups, you seem to have a problem with being contradicted. Get a spell checker, it's another problem you have.

Sane people adapt themselves to the norms of the society they live in. Irrational people think the world should behave as they do.

Moral and moronic are different adjectives. I don't care if you choose not to wear a mask to avoid infection, your choice. However, if you suspect you are infected, and refuse to wear a mask, IMO you are a selfish turd.

Japan is one of the most densely populated countries in the world, at 338 people per square kilometre. The Japanese culture of politeness stems from that fact. Without it, they would be tearing each other to pieces.

When did I suggest wearing a mask at all times? The obvious places to be wearing masks is where there is a high density of people. I don't wear a mask on a scooter or in my car. It's not moral superiority. It's simply following the science, given I am in the most vulnerable age cohort.

People without a scientific background don't understand a COVID virus is only 120 nanometers in diameter, and impossible to project any distance. It has to be attached to a larger particle of sputum or snot to get anywhere. Masks filter out most of said larger particles. It's like saying one can hit a pea as far as they can hit a golf ball.
-
The data says a person infected with COVID is 70% less likely to infect others if they are wearing a mask, and uninfected people are 30% less likely to become infected. You are free to call people who wear masks complete cowards, just as I am free to call people who reject masks as a public health measure utter morons.

How did your dad influence your life
Lacessit replied to Harrisfan's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The reason men do not fare well in Western countries is a gaggle of gutless jurists betrayed their fellow man to set a 50:50 split of assets in stone. One year for marriage, two years for defacto relationships. Irrespective of what was brought to the relationship by either party. IMO Thai family law is much more sensible. Assets brought into the relationship are exempt, only assets accumulated together are split 50:50. That's fair. It is probably only a matter of time before defacto relationships are brought into the fold of Thai family law, which may or may not impact your comfort level. -
It doesn't matter who is in power, Washington is a swamp of corruption, bribery, and nepotism.

The library in my house was about 2000 books. Kindles and smartphones have been a godsend. Jeff Bezos must love me, 760 books on the Kindle. I read 2-3 books a week, some new, some old favorites.

That explains a lot about you, never having a male role model. IMO Steve McQueen would be one of the worst males to base behavior on. Ask Ali McGraw. -
How did your dad influence your life

Same here, although I stayed in the marriage for the sake of my son. Far too long. As an adult, he did say he had never seen two more incompatible people. -

If I knew then what I know now, I would definitely have tried before I bought, and walked away if I could not. -
Do you shower before going in to swimmingpool?
Lacessit replied to Hummin's topic in The Wellness Zone
I shower before and after, there is no knowing how effective the chlorination regime is. -
How did your dad influence your life

He taught me if I wanted something, I had to earn it for myself. No-one was going to give it to me. He taught me to avoid debt like the plague. Delay gratification until I had the cash. He was cheated out of an inheritance, which taught me they can rip families to shreds, and bring out the worst in people. He worked in a job he hated for 40 years. It made me determined I would not. BTW, I love mince pies. -
Bangkokians are now the fattest Thais
Lacessit replied to short-Timer's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
In the rural areas, Thais are far less likely to have access to, or afford the KFC, MacDonald's and Pizza Hut offerings. It's no accident Japanese have the longest average life spans, and an obesity rate of only 4%. Their fast food outlets are less than one-fifth of those in America. I beg to differ on the role of fat in obesity. I eat lashings of cheese, which is 40% fat. My BMI is normal. OTOH, sugar is banned from my diet, as are any high carb fruit and vegetables. -
Rupert and the Mysterious Brew...

I do. It's far more entertaining than your one-liner pathetic put-downs. Get a life. -

Report Thailand Sees a Surge in COVID-19 Cases: Concerns for Public Health
Lacessit replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The data I would like to see is what percentage of people are seriously sick and dying after being vaxxed, and how many unvaxxed people are in the same boat. By seriously seek, I mean those needing admission to an ICU. That's preferable to all the opinions and insults being posted on this thread. Sound and fury, signifying nothing. -
Rupert and the Mysterious Brew...
Lacessit replied to Lewie London's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Every time I see a post by London Lewie about Rupert, I think he's about to spill the beans about Murdoch's illicit affair with Melania. She likes them old and rich. I am getting disappointed.
