And not is lousy areas. Pratumnak, North Pattaya, Nakluea etc.

the whole pattaya area is one lousy area, ????

there is no beach there, it is a seawage water remove system.

and 1 million baht is not cheap for a condo in pattaya, because, as

i mentioned, all pattaya is one cheap low class town .

and if you will look closer, you will find that pattaya is full

of many modern condo buildings, who stand there empty or half empty

, thousands of empty condos in pattaya are for sale in pattaya ,

because, chinese or no chinese, pattaya is a sellers market. many sellers

    and very few buyers.

predatory exchange rates are, for the most part applied by western banks only. Thai banks are not nearly as greedy.

thai banks offer much better rates than western, especially U.S. banks.

what you had to do is transfer USD into your thai bank account, and instruct your U.S. bank

NOT to convert it. this way the USD would be converted to THB in the thai bank account.

another option is to open a USD account in your thai bank.

than transfer the USD to that account and convert it to baht only when you need them, or

when the exchange rate is good.

the immigration accepts USD in your thai bank for the visa requests, as long as they are, of course, meet

the amount neccasary in thai baht.

  3. China sentenced to 10 years in prison for a Hong Kong bookseller.
The heavy penalty was imposed on Guy Minhai, who also holds Swedish citizenship and one of five booksellers

who disappeared and intermittently released by Beijing in recent years.

He was convicted of providing intelligence "secrets".

Gui has been in and out of detention in mainland Xin since 2015, when he disappeared while on holiday in Thailand.

Stockholm and human rights organizations have called for his immediate release: "Nasty punishment"

Their criticism paints them in a negative light than us, as their political situation is even worse than Thailand's.”

this reminds me how once, when i visited japan, one japanese explained to me that japan is ichi ban (no. 1) and not USA, because in USA the 7/11 shops are open only from 7 to 11, while

in japan they are open 24 hours.

WE are talking here about the old testimony .

in hebrew, CHINA is pronounsed SIN.

EGYPT is MITZRAYIM and it has nothing to do with the pyramids, it

    means country of troubles.

this is the acctual qoute in hebrew:

    יחזקאל פרק ל

    טז וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ, בְּמִצְרַיִם--חוּל תחיל (תָּחוּל) סִין, וְנֹא תִּהְיֶה לְהִבָּקֵעַ; וְנֹף, צָרֵי יוֹמָם.

    Stock up while you can!

he is talking on global level. but i think Thailand will be safe.

thailand is self sufficient food wise, and the virus hates tropical weather.

but from the global economy point of view, a disaster is going to happan.

markets will crash in the next few weeks.

and china? china will never be the same.

the rich countries will make their conclusions and will move

their productions and investments from that dirty country.

  8. In early January of this year, a prominent jewish Rabbi announced that he had a devastating outlook for "an imminent global catastrophe" but did not specifically address the virus. He told his followers: "Everyone knows I'm very careful about what I say. On Saturday I had no simple vision at all. There's going to be a huge shock in the world, the size of a world leader's assassination or terrorist attacks on September 11. It will be on a very large scale and will come on the go "All the Jews must gather and grow up, pray, and repent. The world is going to be a disaster that will be recorded in history books as one of the worst in the last few centuries. It will begin in a few days. We must start trying now to 'sweeten the sentence.' Last week, Rabbi Pinto declared that his vision had touched the Corona virus.

Rabbi Pinto claims it will be "the biggest global disaster that will lead to difficult times." He said: "We need to be prepared. What is happening in China is developing into a global catastrophe and its results will reach almost every corner of the globe. It will soon become clear to everyone. I'm not trying to scare anyone. I'm just telling the truth." He added: "Since the outbreak tens of thousands died in China, millions have been held in quarantine for several weeks. Those who do not die from the disease are dying of hunger. Soon the food supply will be over and security forces will realize they are also in quarantine and will try to save themselves."

To substantiate his claims, Pinto pointed to a passage in the book of Ezekiel in which God pledged to "pour out his wrath upon China." In Ezekiel Chapter L, verses 2: 7, it reads: "I poured out my fury on China from the stronghold of Egypt". The rabbi urges everyone to "pray for world peace, light candles and ask for God's forgiveness." He added: "We must pray as hard for salvation as we never did and repent."

  9. truth is relative.

    it's all about definitions.

when a thai official say: "we are screening" people for new cases, he means

taking their body temperature. no fever - no corona.

when chinese learned - the hard way - how to screen for the virus, they learned

to do x-rays and other serious checks.

anyway, it seems that thailand luck is that this virus hates tropical weather,

corona virus loves cold, that is why it is booming now in s.korea and north italy,

but not so much in tropical hong kong and singapore.

  10. what can the government do? this is an unflding situation.

it is a higher power, higher than any government.

all those resort owners should sit and pray that the virus will not

    spread in thailand.

this is more important than lost revenues.

you don't want to see what will happan when thousands of infected

people will be found in thailand...ohhh no, so help us GOD !

Well it was only a farang that he murdered ...

can't blame the thai courts in racism, as they release also thai murderers, even

serial murderers, even after they we sentenced to life in prison...

they released a serial psycho killer after 14 years in jail, and he could not help

him self and went on killing yet another innocent woman..go figure...

  12. i wonder what whould happan had he not a supporting family in the netherland

who fought for justice and pressed for convictions, for 12 long years !!

    12 years !! amazing !!

propably the case would go COLD and forgotten.

i think he made the mistake of his life when he made life insurance on his

wife's name. she could not wait any longer !!

this is the tragic story of, yet again, two people who never met each other.

he looks such a gentelman and family man, paid for traditional wedding with

white dress for his wife, but the wife...ohh dear...ignorant

and barbarian behind a sweet innocent smile...she planned the whole thing...

  13. 17th MARCH 2015 FINAL VERDICT of the Marisa Prommana

On 17th March 2015 the Court of Appeal in Pattaya pronounced their final verdict: Marisa has been sentenced to lifelong imprisonment for her involvement in the murder of Jules and she was arrested immediately.

Justice has been done to Jules almost 12 years after his murder!
The trial against Marisa Prommana started on 26th October 2009 and took about 5.5 years.
On 10th May 2012 the judge in Pattaya Provincial Court acquitted Marisa. According to the sentence of the judge, it had been proven that Marisa had been present when the murder of Jules had been planned, but that she might have changed her mind in the period between the planning and the actual murder. After this, Marisa was released on bail in expectation of our possible decision to appeal to a higher court.

We have not doubted for a moment to do so and in August 2012 an Official Appeal was made both by our lawyer and by the public prosecutor.

The end of April 2013 Marisa was pronounced guilty by the Appeal Court and was condemned to lifelong imprisonment.

Marisa immediately gave notice of appeal at Dika Court, which is the Supreme Court of Thailand and she was released on bail.

On 17th March 2015 Dika Court confirmed the verdict of the Appeal Court.

how about closing the border to China temporarily?

i was thinking about this too, and my conclusion is that yes. the thai government

    made the right decision.

this is what i meant when i said that thailand is not a leader, it is a follower of china, thailand

can be seen as another province in china, and it makes it's decision based on china's instructions.

acctually, it was china who decided to close the whole Hubei province where the virus originated.

a drastic move that is now praised by the WHO. it is equal to sacrificing a whole province, 50 million

people, to save the rest of the country and the region.

and it is china who decided to isolate hong kong. do you think that hong kong decided to

"ban the chinese"? haha no. hong kong is china indeed, and the desicion is done according to the developments.

it is an unfolding situation and as they lost the battle against the virus

they started to close hong kong border.

so what can little thailand do?

truth, scary truth,  is that there isn't much to do.

the masks, the quarantines, are just desperate useless actions.

the virus has to run it's curse until it dies and disapears (like in SARS case) , or mutate to higher

ground and than kills 100's of millions (like in the spanish flu case).
