Thailand: Where white losers that can’t get laid go
Speedhump replied to NorthernRyland's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I was married very happily to a western woman for 45 years and we lived in Thailand for 8 happy years until she died. But there's not another one I would choose, and I knew that even before I left the West. So your comment actually means nothing. -
American tourist and Thai girlfriend drown in Phuket
Speedhump replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The know-alls here telling us about how to beat a riptide don't seem to know the difference between a riptide in a calm-looking sea and the very heavy seas which have killed people in Phuket recently. 🫣 -
The benefits of living alone as an older man

My wife had to wear nappies for the last few months of her life. Not a pleasant task to change them but love is a powerful thing. I wish I was still doing it. -
The benefits of living alone as an older man
Speedhump replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My wife of over 45 years died last year. I'm content alone at home but understand I must force myself to go out and socialise, at least with a few friends. It's proven that mental health is affected by constant isolation, even if I feel fine at home alone with my memories right now. -
In my opinion only. if the seller is arranging transport the goods are not yours until delivered in good order, even if the seller is asking you to pay for the transport. The transporter is a legal custodian arranged by the seller. This is the legal situation in many countries but I don't know about in Thailand. If the seller's terms deny responsibility during purchasing I'd look for another seller.

I use Lazada over Shopee unless only Shopee have the more suitable product. Both are fine in my experience. Lazada's returns procedure is good, not sure about Shopee's. A friend has used Temu once and was happy. I will try them if they and only they have what I need.

How many sellers advertise on Lazada? How could Lazada check every product? They can act if they receive regular complaints about a, seller. Some people complain about everything so it takes more than one or two complaints for them to investigate. Just be sensible and ignore products shown at a lot lower than retail price, but still be prepared for knockoffs.

Why travel, online shopping is the best way to buy stuff now if you've reviewed online. I ordered a new laser printer yesterday and it will be delivered tomorrow. My DDPai Pebble (bought online) was very good for five or six years until the battery stopped holding charge. I fitted it easily, but it was only front facing, not rear. I'm looking for a new one and will follow for suggestions, but will review models online too before buying.

How do Filipinas Differ from Thai Women?
Speedhump replied to kingofallasians's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Thai ice? I know plenty of Thai women with a bit of crazy in them. Pilipinas don't hold a candle to them (they'd probably burst into flames anyway). -
Not my problem. I very rarely have a long session now at 6, but visited my son in May and had a 12 hour bar crawl, and lady month a bar/club crawl with a young neighbour from 9pm until sun up. Only drinking beer but no breaks. Fine the next day, but slept late. 🤣 They're both in their 30s, not sure I could handle a night with both of them....

Thailand reduces school hours in major curriculum overhaul
Speedhump replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
An undereducated underclass is best for an undemocratic government. Teach them only work-related skills and keep them submissive. -
I tend to go to bars where they put a ticket for each round you buy in a little cup on your table. Saves the permanently suspicious from getting angry and causing a scene.

Last night's tranny surprise. At least I wasn't molested.
Speedhump replied to 123Stodg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
A mate picked up a gorgeous street walker at traffic lights in Korea. At his apartment after he showered he flicked back the sheet and there it was. He went ballistic, didn't hurt it, just smashing the walls and shouting. It scarpered like lightning. He stripped the bed and slept under a towel with a rugby shirt as a pillow. -
Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
Speedhump replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Silly. Farang bringing 800,000 Baht into Thailand will attract tax. Small fish will get caught in a net set to catch big fish. -
New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern
Speedhump replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The point of the new rule is to catch both Thais and farang bringing large amounts of money into the country bringing large amounts of money into the country. Farang pensioners and others on low income (by western standards) will certainly be involved in headache and probably expense to explain their income, even if it falls below the tax threshold. -

You will find a vet who will do it but you'll have to try a few. I've been there, so sorry. -

Just some idiot with too much time on his hands. Thais do much worse to each other.
