Reread my comment, I don't think you understood what I said. -
They are not hard to find. For many years I worked offshore Songkhla, just around the corner from Trang. I work for a drilling company as a supervisor, we have strict safety standards. We would employ Thai electricians, Thai's that worked on our rig would comply and obey all of these very strict rules and regulations. I'm sure other industries onshore here in Thailand have competent electricians. With proper training and supervision lives will be saved.

Seems ashame to stop using water coolers, these systems look like they have good filtration and chilled water. Why not impose strict electrical standards and keep the water coolers operational. Proper regular maintenance would help, sadly this country shows no interest in preventive, scheduled maintenance.

Oh dear, a newbie member, who has been burnt by a Thai chick, so now posting bitter, hateful threads. Have a look in the mirror, maybe this is your problem. BTW, unless she's a Paris Hilton or Taylor Swift or similar all chicks around the world want a guy with money. -

Yes, good point, just have to budget for transport to and from, maybe the occasional medication, paracetamol etc. -

My girlfriends child is mostly cared for by her mother in Ubon. She gives her mother 5000 baht a month for child care, a few thousand baht for nappies and milk, then you have transport and hospital fees for vaccinations etc. Not expensive. -
I love these threads...... 16 years later, how cool is that, an old thread resurrected. The drive down the Sukhumvit, Rayong to Cambodia is a must do. The beaches as you get closer to the border, the narrowist point in Thailand, fantastic view.

How many days for a Thailand trip?
SAFETY FIRST replied to Conan The Barbarian's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
28 days, 6 times a year. That's my rotation, I work offshore, it's perfect. Get yourself a rental car, find a friend (female), drive, drive, drive. Hotels are cheap, travel around, nothing will disappoint you, just steer clear of some of the foreigners.
