Thailand been my home over 20 years. I love Thailand and all its imperfections. It's a little like me rough around the edges, it's suits me fine. Bloody annoying that foreigners come to live in Thailand then complain.

Most houses built in Thailand are inefficient, gaps in doors and windows, poor ceiling thermal insulation etc. If you keep the rooms air conditioned your losses are too great, it will be very expensive. Improve your house and its insulation, Double glazed windows, seal gaps doors and windows, roof insulation then you can keep rooms constant temperature.

I travelled through Koh Kong border from Thailand, got through the checkpoints and was directed into the customs office, I was asked how long I was staying in Cambodia, they calculate a fee, I was told to pay many thousands of baht but negotiated down to a few thousand baht, they never asked to hold on to my registration papers (book). I paid the fee. I don't like conflict or what would happen if I didn't pay, didn't think it was a lot of money, I would like to know how to avoid this fee/under table money for my next trip.

I've worked, studied, travelled to over 40 countries, Thailand is the safest by FAR. Thailand has been home for me and my large family, I've lived here over 20 years, never had a problem. Like to know what he did, he p*ssed someone off. Lots of troublemaking foreigners arriving. Thailand has a special way with dealing with troublemakers. Anyway, probably road rage, 2 idiots.
