Because pretty much any travel insurance package will cover a car passenger if they are wearing a seat belt. Even the cheapest ones do.

When traveling, one can not rely on the country you are traveling in to inforce the laws as they may do back home as any travel agent with any experience SHOULD KNOW.

The estimate of North Korean nuclear devices is a low of 10-30 and the high of 30-60 .The cost to produce is very high and giving up any would be a sign of defeat for the North .Remember this is Asia with the "Face" thing in play.

This headline sounds like a scared school child being the mediator between the" School Bully" and the "Protector of small children" for his own self.

Was this not one of the "Magical Cures" that the medical department of Thailand discovered when not even the best medical teams in the world could?

I was unwell for a few days ,and i thank goodness that i have a loving wife and family that care for me so well ,it must be hell to be lonely and alone .
Thais might have many faults (as do we all) but Thais are some of the friendliest people that you can meet from all walks of life. A person would have to be an extremely introvert not to have friends and or acquaintances here And even most of the farangs are friendly here. Sad for him.

I’m surprised it works at all, it seems to go into meltdown so often.
Bluesspunk many times the reporting here is a source of humor for readers that were educated in Europe or (some of) The US. For good up beat blues go to YouTube "Eric Clapton ,Buddy Guy live doing Sweet home Chicago with a gathering of some of the great Guitarist.

From my experience the Thai Police could be more efficient and productive by following up on their meager successes. Lower Sukhumvit Road, especially the odd number sois between 1 and Asoke are crawling with foreigners that can be observed to be dealing drugs, human trafficking and con men ready to take any victims money. The police should do more video surveillance, immigration checks on the loiterers and everyone detained automatically has their residence searched for evidence of criminal activity and associate criminals.
Stop the raids for the press that are embarrassing the police in general and do the work. In no reality in this universe are these raids a deterrent to the criminals involved.

Could it be that many of these farangs on Sukhumvit Road are the " protected ones" that are doing the bib's bidding such as reselling the drugs that the bib have confiscating from the big dealers?

The 1970s were the worst. Tiny Renault taxis that could barely seat two farangs in the back seat with very little room in the passenger front seat and no meters so you had to begun about the cost of each trip.

In 15 years i haven't seen a qualified (to western standards) engineer in Thailand...now i won't even let them pump my tires because the garage even doesn't have a pressure gauge to do that properly.
So will thailand become the hub of maintenance for planes? I don't think so.....
In the 47 years that I was involved in the aircraft maintenance field before I retired. I working in The US and Asia including Saudi Arabia and Iran I have worked with ,instructed or supervised many aircraft maintenance mechanics and other people in the aviation field. In my opinion , I have found that there are many aircraft maintenance repair, overhaul ,and testing stations that any commercial or private aircraft owner can trust that the work will be done safely and properly in many of these countries .Los would be one of those 10 in the bottom of my list.

And this say´s what? That you should be careful about their professional skills, or that people in this country get to be medical professionals without any experience?
Along with many of those that have bought their way through university.Ten to One that most registered medical nurses in The UK or The US would be bettered qualified then these clowns. My opinion.

A lucky find or " targeted"?
I'm sure I am not alone in wondering what happens to this sort of "confiscated" money or seized assets?
I'm sure that here must be a simple publicly available audit trail that explains it...
In Europe or America money that has come into the country that has not been declared now belongs to that country and the carrier could have charges against him.

I would have hoped that somebody in your family helped the offender find an early grave.

That is because to properly keep the area in repair ,the head of that department could not take the tax money meant for the up keep and buy his son a new Benz.

Well, a 230 pounder against a 160 pounder ain't exactly a fair fight, and a sucker punch doesn't make you a man.
If it had been Thais then when the larger guy was winning then the on lookers would have jumped in to deliver a few licks on the smaller guy because that is what cowards do.

Outside of extreme pain I have always considered the act of suicide a very cowardly thing to do .I had a high rolling friend in the US to comit suicide when he owed the IRS an extremely large amount of money .Sure his wife can collect the insurance money (over two years) but he left to
children of 5 and 6 with no father and the IRS still gets the money first. Stupid act.
