  1. Most ICE vehicle fires can be extinguished quickly often with less than 2000 litres carried on a fire truck.
  2. The video below is a lot more informative and goes beyond the subject of EV fires. The exploding vehicle on charge early on in the video is quite spectacular.
  3. On the monument circle road head out and pass under the expressway then make a U turn. On the left side just before the expressway you passed under; there is a turn onto the toll gate ramp, you really can't miss it.
  4. Does not matter where the fire started as once EV's containing 500 slabs of self oxidizing fuel joined the party it was game over. I hear the ship will enter salvage with a new name Dutch Oven.
  5. The 8 pin 24V ac relay shown earlier will do the job if only operated one time each day. As for the cheap solid state relays, they do not employ the ideal electronic switching method for inductive loads. Very likely it would fail in the on state which is probably not ideal or even introduce a high resistance path and cook itself to death.
  6. Solid state relays for reactive loads like a 1.5HP motor should be chosen carefully. Not all switching methods are suitable. Low price fake Chinese Fotek brand (zero cross point) solid state relays are famous for containing underated low quality componemts unable to handle specified currents. A search for cheap Chinese solid state relays will soon reveal why they are so cheap. A reliable and common solution for Sprinkler controllers like Rainbird and Hunter is to interface with a pump contactor using a small 24V ac relay. Below shows irrigation control we built for a local well installation. The sprinkler controller calls a 24V AC relay which in turn energises the 220V AC pump contactor to supply a feed pump. Example of a off the shelf sprinkler to pump interface.
  7. No matter how much of your personal story you throw at it, my claim remains true. I must say though, your EV obsession and ramblings are somewhat entertaining. PS English is my second language, so I guess comprehension issues are possible. Having said that, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
  8. Yes when the solar investment has paid back. Until that point arrives, surplus yes, free at no cost, no.
  9. After being ripped off and given the run around by several Chon Buri vets our family uses the Kasetsart University Animal Hospital in Bangkok for anything complicated. Get there at 7:00 am to avoid heavy traffic and pick up queue ticket. Take with you all info from local vet visits. 13.844378, 100.578134 From Si Racha to this area I used H7 - H9 - 350 - 351 or use Google for other route. https://vet.ku.ac.th/veten/index.php/hospital-kamphaengsaen2
  10. Solar power is a great way to charge EV's but one cannot claim the power is free (no cost) until the value of electricity produced exceeds the cost of solar equipment.
  11. Yes they do and in many cases it will far exceed the return on investment period.

  13. I can understand your huge EV erection and eagerness to tell the world, but please stick a cork in it once in a while or play the B side.
  14. Thanks for adding confirmation to my reply. 3-5 years at the Deco web site so the upper limit of about 2-3 years is plausible and a safe bet. Always best to apply a reduction value to those manufacturers claims.

  17. This Chinese girl will put your mind to rest.
  18. My knowledge of the workings of induction cooker electronics is good but lacking for cookware. A few tests reveal most stainless steel cooking pots to be highly magnetic some more so at the base with a few showing only mild attraction. I have also found aluminium pan with steel inserts in the base. All induction cookers make a test for the presence of an iron circuit before allowing full power. It is quite possible that your cooker is failing to detect within the low end of its acceptable range and maybe faulty. Most induction cookers use rectified raw mains power directly so it would be a good idea to check that your two phase supply voltage is healthy when the cooker is on load.
  19. Work top steel reinforcement would be out of the induction coils range and also outside of the hobs steel case which is also out of range. I can't imagine how acceptable induction can take place within a stainless pot unless it has some kind of iron base or content. Most induction hobs make make a pulsed induction level test before allowing power to the coils.
  20. Video gives idea how long the job might take Aftermarket alternator 3-5k Baht
  21. There are two sides to the discarded EV story in China. 1. Cars dumped from failed schemes subsidised by the government. 2. Cars registered then dumped in fields so that manufacturers can meet government subsidy numbers. The video in question clearly shows both sides of the story and then goes on to talk about environmental issues. Those struggling to understand should listen carefully as the video makes the transition at 3:36. I guess one can expect videos like these to come under heavy attack from Chinaboo's and the army of online soldiers paid to keep China looking squeaky clean. The creator of said video Winston Sterzel; has quite the story to tell about his China adventure which includes the making of Conquering Southern China (8.4 IMDB rating). I have only scratched the surface but it quickly becomes apparent that he fled China with his Chinese wife not because he hates China or its people.
  22. Shock horror probe stories keep the sheeple occupied and give ad algorithms something to bite on. Engineered dramas can also be used to squeeze uncomfortable issues out of the headlines.
  23. Electricity supplies to public areas of condo buildings have specifically designated service use. The cost of power consumed by these designated services is included in the overall service cost for the building. Power outlets in public areas provide power for building service and maintenance. Owners or renters who take it upon themselves to consume electricity from public area outlets are no different to those who steal electricity from street lighting poles. All of this should be easily understood by those with even the lowest level of common sense. Stand on electric scooters cost very little to charge and could quite possibly be overlooked. However, one or two low consumption scooters can lead to many or even higher consumption vehicles. This eventually leads to a safety problem and significant consumption added to the public service. The best approach is to disallow any charging from the public area outlets until a proper facility can be provided that satisfies all situations. My brother in law manages a large residence in the Siracha area. The owners are quite professional and have recently banned all EV charging in the parking area because extension cords and multi sockets were found connected to the public outlets. Charging facilities to this residence are being evaluated along with safety concerns picked up by the building insurer.
  24. I very much doubt it will happen with so much desirable stock in the store.
