  1. Yes the old they do they don't story, and it's quite believable that immigration need the cash or maybe even have a cash share agreement with the land transport office. In an attempt to clear up any confusion; the brother in law called the Pattaya land transport office today to ask about yellow book status. He was passed over to the dept checking licence paperwork. The following information was given although I doubt if this applies to all offices :- The Pattaya office has not accepted the yellow book for several years when applying or renewing a licence that covers all of Thailand. Some exceptions were made during the Covid lockdown period. The Yellow book is acceptable if a Chonburi area only licence is required. The office has decided an immigration resident paper is more reliable for obtaining up to date residence status because it is connected with the latest TM30 information.
  2. March this year I took a friend to the Pattaya transport office for licence renewal, he was armed with yellow book, pink card and the here long time badge. The office refused to accept yellow book or pink card and insisted he apply for residence certificate at Jomtien immigration.
  3. The manufacturers are concerned because a charge socket mechanical interlock device is not functioning correctly. The primary reason for this interlock is likely to be prevention of contact damage when disconnecting under load. Secondary electrical safety devices prevent plugs remaining live after disconnection. It’s possible a substantial and scary arc would be drawn off a plug if carrying DC load before the system shuts off from connection loss. Looking at the CCS2 charging plug design and location of the handle its doubtful there would be much risk of injury to the operator. As usual the media are giving the full shock horror to this story.
  4. I have recently purchased W10, W11 Pro and W11 Enterprise from Lazada without issue. Most sellers send the activation key only through Lazada messaging, this is all you need to upgrade from home to pro or make a fresh install via USB. Download any version you need from Microsoft using the media creation tool. https://www.lazada.co.th/pc-hub/?q=All-Products&from=wangpu&langFlag=en&pageTypeId=2
  5. First is a termination box labelled TOT which connects the cable from the street (black) to a fibre connection socket. The yellow cable plugs into this socket and on to the ONT.
  6. As I am the only one to use ONT in the thread I guess the OP's reply was aimed at my picture post. I made a follow up post to be sure the OP understands a stand alone ONT does not limit his options. It's best to leave modems out of the picture when talking about fibre services to the home.
  7. Not limited. You connect your own choice of router to the ONT and use WAN login detail provided by TOT.
  8. TOT installations vary between areas. Ask your local office if they can supply an ONT only which makes using your own equipment easier. Example - TOT ONT in our office.
  9. The video makes a good point when you consider the following. Unlike liquid fuel, power delivery for EV charging stations is a lot more complex than simply placing an order. Some locations will have capacity to meet a stations maximum demand where others might need a diversity plan to limit power when all chargers are in use. Diversity calculations happen at all levels of power distribution. Not all EV owners will be charging at home and demand for reliable high output charging facilities will increase. 10. If you can't handle a public forum that includes all walks, take your discussion to a private safe space. The signalling platform will be greatly reduced but at least you won't be suffering us low level simpletons. Attacking peoples education standard because they don't understand something is low but comes as no surprise here. One would think that people who have confidence in their choices along with the education to explain the technology can handle the negatives without personal attacks and compartments. On the other hand, it’s understandable that people will be a little sensitive after parting with large chunks of cash for products that lack a solid track record. PS In the future you might consider using the superior education to write a clear OP. This is a discussion about EVs available or coming to Thailand. This is not a discussion about Chinese cars
  11. Update I forgot to mention - There is a chance your receiver contains the dual voltage transformer but has the voltage selector omitted for the US market. An electronics repair shop can check if your transformer is dual voltage but hard linked at 120V.
  12. The Onkyo SR-606 rev-04 schematic shows voltage selection.
  13. Insurers will of course take control of this emerging hazard, they move quickly when something new tips the balance sheet. Personally I will sit on the fence and watch the EV gold rush develop, lots more entertainment to come that's for sure.
  14. Let me guess, he talks rubbish because your extensive experience and knowledge of Africa does not align with his opinion. Please enlighten us, the topic is - AFRICA -Have you? Would you?
  15. An introvert who went from a well paid teaching job in Japan to the Jungles of Africa. The demise and subsequent odd behaviour began with rejection of the Japanese work ethic and a series of videos aimed at crushing the dreams of anyone wishing to live and work in Japan. All of his original video content has disappeared.
  16. This guy appeared at my sister-in-laws rent rooms over in Banglamung Nong Prue M1 a few years back. He was living in Japan at the time and looking for a new adventure in Thailand. A lot of reasons to hate Africa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbTtvZVxMHY
  17. Which I would expect our so called DIY & Electrical Forum Expert to fully understand and not belittle people with jelly bean nonsense.
  18. I forgot to knock off nothing. Does not matter how much jelly bean nonsense you apply, my answer and the diagrams result are correct. There is a reason why the diagram shows 33V at the output and its not a mistake. Educate yourself and all will be revealed. PS Its possible the widely used diagram was taken from here https://rayshobby.net/wordpress/24vac-to-5vdc-conversion A little more help understanding half wave rectification with and without filter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7EUf1GAQuI
  19. The output voltage of 33V given in your diagram is correct (approx) for half wave rectification with filter and no load.
  20. Yes and its a good idea to start the BMS and new cell pack life with a clean slate. Balancing packs of large cells can take some time though.
  21. Not everyone is nervous, for some; DIY solar is a hobby and take ROI far less seriously. I on the other hand closely monitor the returns from solar systems parked on packaging sheds owned by my Thai family. It is of course wrong to claim solar is powering your home at no cost before payback is achieved. Towards the end of the day when work consumption drops off, our electric lift truck grabs a tiny amount of solar power but I never claim its surplus and free from cost.
  22. That is just crazy and you really should take this to Sofar before attempting any more firmware changes. It is possible they have several versions which changed in production over time. They should know what version you have from the serial number. You should send this to Sofar and ask why it differs
