Whatever. He though gets the last laugh. You are in his country; he is not in yours.
The last laugh is that he is not in our countries. Mostly because he probably can't get a visa..

His resume seems to be from the oil and gas industries, when will they ever learn that to successfully run an airline you need someone with the proper skills and not an ex general or a political stooge... or not, as the case have been so far with THAI history...
It's a fundamental flaw of the Thai/Chinese business culture. The common belief here is that the boss can do anything and everything. He's the boss, after all.
Their success will have everything to do with how many foreigners they think the country will "lure" to Thailand. That is their only business plan. Get more Chinese in...

So far it all seems anecdotal. Rental prices are soft in the Sukhumvit area, but how soft it's hard to tell. There are rumors of price drops on outright sales, but little that's specific. Maybe some agents will chime in. I will predict that if prices are indeed dropping, they will drop more before it's over.
Thailand is, as a rule, anecdotal. There is little consistency in anything. Economies in Thailand often do not follow normal market principles because they are entirely opaque and uncompetitive.

What a banana republic. There seem to be only a handful of people in Thailand that just do "business". Any kind of business. Oil, airlines, whatever. These super Thais can run any kind of business. They are so talented.

They deserve the massive international shame coming to them.

If creditors allow the rehab process to go via Thai courts, then THAI will not need to seek bankruptcy protection in the US, he said.
Would have to be some rather daft creditors to trust a Thai Court..

Exactly what I said weeks ago. Tourism was their whole plan all along. Give the world a false sense of security by under testing and under reporting the covid cases and get tourists back ASAP. Thailand can't survive without foreign tourism.

In March this year, Dr. Prasit predicted that COVID-19 infections in Thailand would peak at over 100,000 with hundreds of fatalities by mid-April. To date, however, about 3,000 plus cases have been recorded with a death toll of 57.
Doesn't give him much credibility at all, but we are expected to believe his latest fear mongering ?
He may have been right... The Thais only tested a handful of people per day, so who knows exactly how many infections there are...

This is exactly why Thailand is right to have the strict quarantine requirements.
This is why Thailand can control new outbreaks.
UK (and others) take note.
They've been in those countries for months. What are the odds they only started showing symptoms the moment they could make it back to Thailand? Think

Thai massage shops are known for obeying laws. I'm certain they will self enforce these restrictions even if it means they lose money.

I'll tell you what. Thais are robust people for sure. There are so many stories of them surviving what us old Farangs never do.
Not making light of the seriousness, but I was not surprised that she survived.

Again, their sneaky plan all along. Under test and under report the virus numbers and get tourists back and medical tourists in ASAP before the Thai economy collapses.
Actually kind of clever, though sneaky.

this is fascinating, because there are loads of adult websites being blocked by order of the former Ministry for Information and Communication Technology (MICT - has been replaced by MDES, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society).
why are some treated differently?
A little known secret is that the Thais block these sites because they want horny men to spend their money in the Thai flesh trade. There's no money in letting blokes waste their resources onto tissues in their condos.

Whether climate affects the results or not, outdoor lifestyle etc.
It was obviously their strategy from the beginning. They had no intention of testing aggressively. Rather, test little, report low numbers, and get the tourists back at any cost because more than a 30% of the Thai economy is foreign tourism.

I am surprised to note Thai Airways web - page is closed so it's not possible to make a booking for later this year or next year or any other time ?
I know the Company is in financial strife but surely they should be promoting a product somewhere ?
Would you purchase a ticket from an airline going into bankruptcy? If so, I have an investment I'd like to share with you.

that appears to be fairly common experience/knowledge regarding banks, the oft repeated advice is if you dont get what you want with one bank employee/branch or bank simply try another bank employee/branch or bank until you do. works for me.
It's true about everything in Thailand. Thailand is consistently inconsistent. You might even get a different answer at the same bank branch from a different account rep. Likely, actually.

My understanding is that generally you need to be employed in Thailand to secure a Thai bank credit card. Are you working?

No worries. Tourism is only 9% of the Thai economy. Right? Right?
