So not unusually wealthy then (for a policeman). We the people need an example made of this man to serve as a warning to the rest of the wannabe Joe Ferraris in the police force. I do worry that most police feel jealous of him and would love to be in his position, so if we cleaned up the police force.
They need to go up the management chain here....all this guys bosses all the way to Prawit....no bail and give them all life sentences as an example to others.

I have yet to find a government website that functions effectively. If they are the hub of the Internet in SEA why don't they learn to code?

Because they owned it over 20 years ago, didn't sell it all off, kept part of it--had to sell in the 97 crash...they also were importing together.
Are these Thai rules? Irrespective of past ownership (presumably under licence from Tesco) would not allow you to buy to achieve a 70% market share.

At what time does the Curfew start, please?
Is the curfew still a thing? I must say it is still quiet where I live after 9pm.....indeed, if you like sleeping at night it's lovely.

Why did TAT) set a totally unrealistic target to begin with? It was not achievable and thus made the sandbox a failure in everyone's eyes.

Unsurprising really seeing how most of the girls in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket were sending money home to support their idle brothers and their mum and dad. I look at this and feel that I was lucky to have been born in the West.

How they were able to buy all of Tesco's supermarkets and pass the equivalent of the monopolies commission I will never know......it brought them to a > 70% market share of food sold in Thailand. Ridiculous.

Thank you for this. It is really interesting....
I'm surprised at the car insurance cost being lower in the UK, you must have a points free licence.
I spend much more on electricity.....about 3000 pounds per annum, but I like it cool in the house night and day.
Well done.

It was never a "plan", as though Prayut had sat down and written out a document with a series of who-does-what-by-when action points.
It was an off-the-cuff remark by Prayut, nothing more, designed to buy time.

Wasn't there an article last week about Thailand joining COVAX and sending fees to the WHO?

I think dual pricing will come under pressure if prospective tourists get to know about it. They will probably be kept in the dark. Time for foreign governments to step in and advise people about this fraud.

Besides the murder charge is anyone ever going to mention how he could afford the house and cars on a police salary? I believe the total value more than 15 million dollars. It seems that this is quite acceptable in the police dept.
I have formed the impression after reading about this is that the police get a slice of the proceeds of the drug dealers' assets that they catch to give an incentive. He was obviously quite open about his wealth, despite his poor salary.

Great news especially after the disappointment of the sandbox. I know Indians love sandboxes, but they are more comfortable spending lots of money in Thai shops, buying stuff for their wives and girlfriends. Thailand will be back to normal when I see 5 Indians male tourists sharing a small bottle of Coke with 5 straws. Probably saving money to spend in the shops.

I think the rest of the world is moving away from rampant, endemic corruption with the notable exceptions of the relatively big economies of Thailand and India. In China, high ranking officials in the CCP caught with their mouths in the trough can get executed for corruption, the logic being, that power wielders should be held to higher standards that ordinary citizens, thus the penalties have to be higher.

Nice one, maybe she could marry Joe Ferrari...they seem to have the same level of compassion for other humans.
