Thank you UbonJoe

I have been here for 12 years on a Non O visa with annual extensions.
I decided to sit the virus out here in Thailand.
I surmised a few months ago that if I left the country I would never get back in. Does anyone know of there will be a problem getting another extension next year under current rules?

I did my last 90 day report on July 13th...so it is coming due. With the extended amnesty, do I still need to do one before October13th?

No, no, nop , no, no. Keep migrants out and encourage unemployed and penniless Thias to take these jobs. Make the employers pay what Thai need to live here.....350 to 400 a day.

Thailand is a victim of its own success. In order to overcome the virus, it was necessary to close the borders. This worked very well, but pretty much only in Thailand. The countries that kept their borders open like UK, US, Europe, India are ravaged with the disease. Thailand can't fully open its borders until the rest of the world gets the virus under control, but with Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Jair Bolsonaro and Narenda Modi in charge of UK, US, Brazil and India respectively then chances of bringing the virus under control seem years away (unless the virus gives up and moves onto some other animal).
If Thailand reopens its borders to how it was in the past, it is inviting the virus to come back and ravage here. Sadly some businesses, good and bad, will be dragged under and their owners will suffer.
I'm a fat, 67 year, old diabetic and the Thai government's repose has been great for me, but I feel for some of the honest businessmen who have been caught in the downturn, which is not yet over...banks will have to declare their NPLs (non performing loans) and increase their capital reserves....this will mean a tightening of standards for new loans otherwise called a credit crunch which is bad for starting new businesses.

When I first came here I stayed in rented accommodation which had been built on a former chicken farm. It was crawling with scorpions. The first time was from small scorpion in the bathroom....it was a very painful bite. I had about 6 or 7 more bites over the next 3 months (until we moved) none as bad as the first. The worst thing to get bitten by in my opinion is a takkap (centipede). I got bitten by a small one on the toe and it was way worse that the worst of the scorpion bites.
I have heard a couple of theories.....first is that you develop a sort of immunity to the bite that makes later bites less painful....second is that smaller, and immature insects give more painful bites because they empty their full sac of poison, because they have not learned to calibrate what dose to give to each of its prey. I can't verify anything, it is just hearsay.

I never met anyone with gout until I came to Thailand....now I hear it all the time, even in young people. Fortunately colchicine is a cheap and effective cure for an episode....but it has many side-effects and a number of drug-drug interactions with a wide range of frequently used medications. Go see your doctor.

Personally, I am in favour of mutilations for small children who misbehave. First offence: cut their ears off; second offence: cut their noses off; third offence: gouge their eyes out.
This may not solve the disciplinary problem but would enable everybody to see who the miscreants were when they become adults.
These mutilations should be done in a special room with qualified personnel.

I'm guessing Ivanka will simply assume the Presidency if Trump dies (he's over 70 and fat, so there a a 1 in 20 chance he'll die).

Good for Pope Francis. Please join into politics and condemn the US attempt at hegemony through endless lying. Like Joe Biden should have avoided debating Trump because of his endless lies...Pope Francis should permanently ban the other half of the evil duo, Pompeo.

All of the analysis, all of the BS comes from having no data. What is needed is a multivariate analysis for the next 50,000 cases of positive tests including urban vs rural, indoor vs outdoor exposure, institutionalised vs not, age, concomitant diseases, severity of disease, presenting symptoms, major symptoms during disease, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, educational level etc.....stick all this data into a large computer and see what correlates. Correlation is not causation but once the correlation is there it can be investigated to see if it is real or an artefact.
Only then can we have a sensible discussion as where we are now is that too many people Aree using snippets of information (which is meaningless) to support their meaningless opinions.

I honestly can't believe this marketing campaign....is Big Joke behind it? They'll arrive by charter flight or private plane....so well heeled farangs expected? Well one of two things will happen.....first these 14,400 tourists will be the start of a 40 million wave of foreign tourists; or two, like the Thai-ness campaign, it will all be quietly forgotten.

What sort of regulation is there of REITs in Thailand. They were a popular investment in the US some time back but there were issues with some of the more highly leveraged funds.
