Protected how? Like the forests? Until some hi-so or multinational mega-corp turns up with a bribe and wants to build a factory or a mine?

I am amazed that the country with it's top ranked education and world class universities haven't been leading the world in the production of cancer medication for many years
Ooops, Thailand you say! sorry forget my last...
Footnote: Thailand is perfectly adequate for copying the medical innovation's of academic work carried out at great expense by the worlds best scientists at the cutting edge of medicine, they are also good at making knock off Louis Vuitton handbags!!
It is perfectly legal to make generic copies. There is also a provision, TRIPS, in the WTO agreement for Thailand and other low income countries to produce generic copies of patented drugs where the Pharma industry has priced the drugs such as to inhibit access. It is illegal to export drugs made under TRIPS.
The Pharma industry spends way more on marketing their drugs with huge sales forces that they spend on research. I worked in Pharma for what it is, a filthy industry that has minimal regard for patients and total focus on profits for shareholders. The poor of the world need to unite against these morally bankrupt multinational ba$tards

They should put speed governors on Mercs...indeed perhaps many car sold in Thailand should have one with speed limited to 90 kph.

She will have to come on repatriation flight. Should seek refund from JAL if possible.
Should contact the Thai Embassy to arrange.
Thanks, I was hoping she might avoid the embassy route....but...

If not married to a Thai then currently no way.
If he is married to (or parent of) a Thai, he will have to show proof of health insurance, a negative COVID test 72 hours or less before departure, take a special flight arranged by the Embassy (for which there may be a long wait) and undergo 14 days quarantine on arrival in an approved facility at his own expense (40k on up).
Sheryl, my Thai partner is in Japan and wants to return to Thailand at the end of October. I understand from reading TV over the last few days that she does not need a COVID test, that she must quarantine for 14 days in a government facility.
Will she need to be on a repatriation flight? Or can she fly on a JAL flight for which she has a return ticket?
Thanks

Before driving a Ranger you need to learn to drive like a totally-entitled d1ck, learn to think you own the road, and that every other road user has no rights to be even be on the road.
I bought Ford here once....never again....really bad re-sale value, <deleted> gearbox that needed recall, electrical issues that caused a small fire in one off the headlamps, and worst of all cheating service people.

Seems like a great way to attract new tourists. Who wouldn't like time in Thai jail for overstaying?

Personally I hate tattoos, and a huge turnoff for me in a woman. I see it the same way as smoking. I used to make myself and don't mind people smoking in the bar with me, but I don't fancy women that smoke.

I think they have totally missed the issue here.....it is the quarantine that is the problem, not length of the visa.

I think buildings are not built to last 40 years. My own house is 12 years old and there are a lot of issues need fixing....fortunately not leaks....but the standards of the build is poor...and I used an English guy to build the house.

Bloody hell. Shockingly lax. Isn't it against the law....if not, shouldn't it be?

I wasn't here when Thaksin was PM, but I have been told on numerous occasions that the country was full of hope for the future after the financial disaster in 1997. When I first came here in 2008, I lived on a soi in the country that had electricity and mobile phone masts installed in the Thaksin era....needless to say these poor people were grateful. Also Thaksin was a builder....schools, hospitals....brought in healthcare and started pension planning like a real country, not a banana republic.
Was he corrupt? Undoubtedly, but I would rather than a corrupt politician that was on the take but gave something back to the poor; than the rest of the politicians who take and take and take and give nothing back but hardship.

Avoid Apple, but they don't have much in this price range.

Unpopular but he is right. Coronavirus rates are far higher in other countries so letting in migrants, especially from Europe and America, raises the risk here in Thailand. Thailand and is a victim of its own success. Does anyone really think there was a grand plan to shut down tourism? Grow up.

Singha is nasty stuff, w hy not get Leo instead. Very drinkable with or without ice. I've never had a bad bottle and I have had a few over the past 10 or 12 years.

C'mon Thailand.....how about a lawsuit here.....defamation of Pattaya?
I saw a tempting offer on a villa on Jomtien the other week, big, sea view and really cheap. I fancied a few nights away from home. But when you see the pics, why would you even want to go?

Great result......how about planes to take us there? How about quarantine on the way back?

Is is a Tesla? They seem to burst into flames in America and immolate their drivers?
Seriously, though it would ruin your whole day having this sort of thing happen

Hopefully people will see how stupid these plans are and throw Prayut out at the next election.

How so?....do you have any examples of where the UN has dispensed undue privileges to China?
