Given what gomangosteen has said above, I think I will give Cambodia a miss. Seems like they are using the coronavirus to collect in some money. $225 a day for treatment? What treatment can they give? A few paracetamol to bring your fever down, and a bed in a lousy hospital for $225? No thanks.

The government have been accorded plaudits over its handling of the Covid problem. They seem about to snatch failure from the jaws of victory.
The country has been fine under lock down unless you owned a business that was impacted....and it has kept deaths to an absolute minimum. They seem clueless how to open up the country or to bring back tourism.

No he had billions of baht in notes in his house when he was robbed....some of the thieves were caught....they said there was so much money they could carry it all away...18 million baht was recovered. He was asked how he could have such a huge compound in Bangkok and so many cars on 30,000 baht a month salary. He said he acted as an architect part-time after hours at the ministry. He got a piece of every road construction project in the country for about 20 years.

What on earth is the problem of people driving on the beach? These folk are on holiday by the way.
Do they leave trash? Well pay someone 300 baht a day to clean it up or make vendors do it?
Or is it some fundamental moral objection to alcohol, that you just can't bring yourselves to say out loud as it will deter tourists.
Thailand is attractive to people because it is free-wheeling, not because alcohol is likely to be banned.

New cars are so cheap vs used cars here that it is a bit pointless buying one in my opinion. You get 3 years warranty with a new car or truck.
I don't get the sense that Thais take very good care of their cars in general....not a lot of regular servicing and so forth, and if you have ever seen a road here, you will know that they overload and abuse the hell out of pick up trucks. I'm sure you will pay less for a new car at the dealership than you will for a used car with a loan.

More like an AMEX card....ie pay it off every month. I have a Kasikorn card, which seems much better....it's called a Wisdom card and I have had it for about 8 or 9 years. It comes with a card which allows you access to the business class lounges at Suvarnabhumi and other Thai airports....not such a benefit at the moment of course. They also give very high credit limits, in case you wish to buy a car or boat or something.
