  5. Yes indeed. As a UK Citizen with a National Insurance Number (NIN) and "qualifying years", your nearest Social Security Office to where you land should assist you. Should you arrive at LHR, and as posted elsewhere, there is a Social Security office within the airport. I wish you good luck and a stress free time back in the UK.
  6. Yes indeed - the same case. This time 4 of those allegedly involved, now face trial in a Malaysian Court. Previous defendents, including the General, were tried in a Thai Court.
  7. A disgraceful statement. These are not "pesky kids" but people of voting age who will be angry (and quite rightly so) if their democratic vote is not recognised by the "dinosaur" anti-democracy establishment.
  8. I checked this the other day and the coroner's formal review hearing is due on the 6th July 2023 (next month). Professor Catherine Mason, senior coroner for Leicester City and South Leicestershire, said: "A cause of death has been provided. The cause of death is provisional until the formal hearing.   12. Evidently yes. I researched the possibilty a few days ago and Air Asia offer Fly-Thru fares from Siem Reap (where I live) to Rangoon and Mandalay, via DMK. Reference from July 2017:- A Thai general was among 62 people convicted by a court on Wednesday of various charges, including murder, torture, rape, money laundering and human trafficking. Lieutenant General Manas Kongpan received 27 years for human trafficking and other offenses. The 103 defendants, all of whom pleaded not guilty, included Thai police officials, businessmen, bureaucrats and Myanmar nationals.   19. With repect, only if you are staying in a Chinese owned hotel. Check hotel ownership before booking - I did! Nowadays when visiting Thailand I still use those Thai family owned establishments.
  20. When I lived in Northern Thailand, I planted many teak saplings on land I purchased opposite the house. This was done for the next generation, children at the time of planting.
