I have contracted this infection in my groin area over several years. My doctor said it was fungal infection due to the warm and moist area of my groin whilst living in tropical conditions with high humidity. I was told it was caused by the wearing of tight clothing and I remember my UK doctor telling me to "ditch my Y-Fronts, wear boxer shorts and let it all hang free"! I recently suffered another infection and my Khmer doctor prescribed Clotrimazole Fungizap gel. Cost me 7,000 riels (1.75 $US). Wonderful stuff which cleared my infection in no time!

At the original hearing in Leicester City and South Leicestershire Coroners Court back in February 2023, the verdict was adjourned until July 6 2023. Here we are at the 14th July 2023 and no verdict to date. I have been monitoring the local UK media with no succes to date. It is believed he died in hospital from a non-suspicious head injury, but we will have to wait and see!

There are no condo blocks in Siem Reap due to height restrictions. All buildings MUST NOT exceed the height of Angkor Wat on religious grounds. So, the maximum height of any building is 5 floors! There are, of course, many apartments to rent. I rent the complete upper floor of a villa style building whilst my landlord and his family live on the ground floor. I have a balcony, with furniture, which leads into a part furnished lounge area and kitchen area. There is an adjoning toilet/shower room. Then a very large furnished bedroom with a second toilet/shower room and air conditioning. The rent per month is 300 US$ (just over 10,000 Thai baht per month) which includes water and refuse collection. Electricity and internet is seperate. Photos:

Very similar to a certain extent (living standards) but no extensive mountain scenery other than the local distant Kulen Mountains. Plenty of bars, restaurants and night life. Many supermarkets including a MAKRO. Nearby is the UNESCO Angor Wat Archaeological Park. Totally hassle free when applying for/extending a visa - no need for a bank account with mandatory deposits. No 90 day reports. There is an International airport, like CNX. On the downside are medical facilities. Yes there are private clinics and hospitals but should one need major treatment people cross the border to Ubon Ratchathani with its Thai hospitals.

'm shocked, as it some of the worst food in SE asia Interesting. I have now lived in Siem Reap for 3 years. The major banks (ABA for example) in Siem Reap, their ATMs only issue 100$ bills. If you have a Cambodian bank account like I do, there are no ATM fees whatever bank you use. If you use a foreign bank card the fee is usually 10$. That is what I had to pay when using my Bangkok Bank Debit card (now defunct as I no longer have a Thai bank account.) IMO Khmer food is some of the best. There are many award winning restaurants in Siem Reap. It is personal choice of course, as Khmer food is not packed with taste destroying and mouth burning chillies as in Thai food.

The Royal Cambodian Government is active these days in promoting the Riel instead of the US Dollar and most transactions are dual priced, for example in supermarkets and other major stores where the checkout screens display both currencies. High denomination Riel notes are now routinely dispensed at ATMs whereas US Dollar notes below 100 are no longer available. If you want 5,10,20 and 50$ bills you must go to a bank or money exchange counter. I have never seen any one take Thai Baht for transactions - maybe in the casinos or tourist outlets. The current exchange rate is 4,125 Riels for 1 US$. (use 4,000 for ease). So, 100,000 riels approx 25$, 200,000 riels approx 50$, 400,000 riels approx 100$ and so on. For reference: There are 10 denominations of riel: 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000. The 50, 50,000 and 100,000 notes are rare.Mar 14, 2018 (Google) 50 riel notes are rare (1.25 US cents), but 50,000 and 100,000 riel notes are now readily available. I use them for shopping with an occasional 100$ bill.
