  5. Please note: This first phase to be completed by 2026 will link standard gauge HST tracks between Bangkok and Korat. It will be many years away before Bangkok is linked to Kunming. Contracts are still being discussed along with land purchases and environmental issues. Completion of the HST from Korat via Khon Kaen to Nong Khai and across the Mekong on a massive new bridge to Vientiene is a long, long way into the future. From the map below it is predicted HST will reach Nong Khai in 2029. HST planned in Thailand (Wikipedia 2022):

  7. Interesting - no mention of Pattaya, Phuket or Bangkok as retirement destinations. IMO quite rightly so!
  8. Thanks, my thought as well. I suffer when the temperatures and humidity are very high. For reference for those that may be unaware (Google) Heat rash — sometimes called prickly heat, sweat rash or miliaria, is a harmless but very itchy skin rash. It causes small red spots in places where sweat collects, such as the armpits, back, under the breasts, chest, groin, elbow creases and back of the knees, and the waist. To calm the itching or prickly feeling apply something cold, such as a damp cloth or ice pack (wrapped in a tea towel) for up to 20 minutes. tap or pat the rash instead of scratching it. do not use perfumed shower gels or creams.
  9. With respect, and as suggested elsewhere, maybe mental health problems are an issue. Sadly, it reminded me of my days as a UK Forensic Scientist when dealing with the victims of LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide - "acid") hallucinations. reference: The short-term effects of LSD may include: seeing, smelling, hearing or touching things that aren’t real more intense senses a distorted sense of time and space strange feelings in the body, like floating rapidly changing or intense emotions altered state of thinking..................................etc. https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/lsd-acid
