  1. Dee born ? Maybe but not up here. เตะบอล Deh-born I’m with kids all the time I hear this to all the time
  2. I’m the next door neighbour but my girlfriend doesn’t know all the facts. The deceased’s Thai Partner hates me as I’m not the quiet keep your head down Falang they want so won’t even acknowledge me these days. A proper old Isaan hag. So I can’t go round and start asking questions. I have a real feeling in a couple of days or so, maybe even tomorrow they’ll be a procession down to the crematorium and they will ‘ Pow’ the <deleted> out of him. At which point any evidence will be gone and them lot will be ordering a new Mitsubishi Pajaro. And having AC fitted to the room he died in.
  3. I did make up the bit about them, plugging the casket into our power, as an amateur comedian I took a little artistic license
  4. Look. A lot of the guys here have zero life experience and have not a story in them but to make comment on a news story about the double pricing at a Pattaya water park or monkey sanctuary. Anyway let’s get back to the case at hand. I was in the town today , ridiculously hot as it is tonight ????, praying for rain ???? I did consider going to the Cop shop today but I thought about the old adage “ Curiosity killed the cat” so I left it, “leave it steve leave it, it’s not worth it “ Got back tonight after meeting a friend in the town ( that is probably a that is probably a lie ) and grilled the Girlfriend about the events of the death. She really hates me trying to find out the gossip so it was quite difficult. Eventually I gleaned that he was taken away in an ambulance. He went to a first local hospital where he couldn’t be dealt with correctly. He was then taken to NongKhai . It was then deemed that there was nothing that could be done so was sent home to die. From what I can gather, he then died at home, and maybe he was just pit straight in the casket. I’d be lying if I knew at which point, he was at when I saw the ambulance they might’ve been just turning up when he finally died at 20:00 a few days ago. it’s been a few days now, and the casket is still here with some Christmas lights around it. I’m surprised that with the old Thai hands in this forum, someone wouldn’t have been able to find out who died in PhonPhiSai recently. Maybe the autopsy has been deemed unnecessary as the hospital gave a prognosis on the patient and the cause of death is known. Which I find unacceptable.
  5. Yes I must admit I’m a little upset as I found out tonight that the refrigerated casket was plugged in to an outside socket in our garden via an extension cord. No wonder the lights have been dipping every 10 minutes for days !
  6. There is no way you lot have ever addressed people like you do on the forum what a bunch ????. You’re saying that I’ve made the whole thing up ? The refrigerated casket was there the night after the ambulance came. And has been there everyday. I’m a worried he will be burned with no autopsy. Would he have been taken away and autopsy’d so quickly already and be back in the box ready for going up in smoke. Usual bunch of trolls. ????
  7. There’s a tent set up next door. I thought they were going to hit the old German guy who staying there with a bill for a nice big TamBun so everybody could have a piss up. Works out it’s not a TamBun it’s a Gaan Sorp. Slide to the last paragraph for the question below if you hate reading my guff. bit of background. The family next door to us are a bunch of snakes. The first one of them I met when I first come to the village four years ago he came over to talk to me because he was an English speaker. Works out he’s been in Phuket for years working since he was a young teenager now over 40plus. He was quite proficient in English. To give you the measure of the man he now fixes phones up for a living out of his mums house where they all live together. I thought I’d help him out one day and gave him a Samsung J6 to repair the screen on. He said it’s only a small job about 200 Bart. A couple of days later, he said heres your phone back, but it was a lot more difficult than I thought it was gonna be, need 500 Baht really. I balked at this and gave him the money anyway. Now I’m an engineer, but I’ve never really had much to do with fixing phones. But after the 500 Baht bill, I decided that I’d fix my own and I fixed iPhones ever since I’ve become not bad at it actually. Then one day, the screen in the Samsung J6 he’d replaced got broken again. Not wanted to spend another 500 baht. I ordered a new screen and decided to fit it myself. When I pull the old screen out it literally was just one plug going into the phone and glue it back on again. Some of these cheaper android phones can be really difficult to replace parts on, and I thought that this was one of them. It works out that he just fleeced us. It wasn’t even worth 50 Baht as a job to plug a plug-in and click the screen into place and he hadn’t even glued it in. Then there’s the mum she looks like she’s about 60 something and for as long as I can remember she’s gone on these trips to Germany because apparently she’s got a boyfriend there. She’s not the full ticket every time I’ve talked to her she always talk to me in German and I then say to her in Thai, I don’t understand German , speak Thai ! She is a horrible person, harridan fishwife of a hag. She lives in the house with the son who I mentioned, who is called light and also the 60 to 70-year-old father but her and him don’t communicate, she is evil and he is quiet. We have had some very prolonged periods where she has been on the laoKhao day and night, shouting and screaming and making everybody else’s life hell, she really is the worst of the worst of all retiree bargirls. Now, it works out that the old German guy had made a visit from Zee MuzzerLairnd. . And it also works out that the old German guy took Ill in the night and pegged it in the house. The ambulance came but never took him to hospital him to hospital. There has been a Pre - funeral Gaan Sorp gathering with all friends from all over the village coming round for a great piss up the last few days every night while he lies there in the refrigerated coffin. If his family could see the situation of them all around laughing and joking till the early hours with the ganja going with him there in the coffin, they probably couldn’t get their hats on. At some point in the future, there’s going to be a point where I can talk to the guy, light, and the conversation is going to go like this “ Hi Lght so what about this old guy who came over from Germany….you know it’s the hottest time of year at the moment and he’ll be used to having probably about 15° in his own country and I’m pretty sure you haven’t got air-conditioning in your house so where was he sleeping? Oh, he was sleeping in a closed room under a mosquito net with no air-conditioning just a fan blowing hot air on him and he’s 77 years old you say, oh so you killed him then“ Now the upshot of the situation is either a good one for them or a bad one for them. If his ducks are all in a Row, then she will be looking at getting a pay out. but if they weren’t ,him dying, has just cut off her salary. My interest and worry lies in that I’ve got a feeling they’re gonna burn him without an autopsy why is he still here? Why is he still in the refrigerated casket for all we know he was done in? I’ve been here for years I’ve never seen him here. Imagine if this was the first opportunity that she’s been able to make it so he’s worth more dead. I was speaking to her a couple of months ago and I said to her jokingly because I wanted to talk to her about a Falang issue and I said you’re a Falng aren’t you ? because she goes to Germany a lot and can speak German. What I got back was a facial expression that showed me that she had an utter distain for Falang. So that said can any look up on some kind of registry and find out who he is and what are the details of his death. He died 3 days ago and he is in PhonPhiSai NongKhai
  8. No Not everyone says Footboon many say Deh Born. Getting petty now for an old man aren’t you ?
  9. Apart from picking me up on my spelling, which is totally okay, because I agree that anything that could be considered learning material on the net should be perfect. What did you think of the story?
  10. I do that ???? “ Poon Poon “ over There !
  11. As in สร้างบ้าน I know that. I was so tired when I rattled that off I just got it off Google Translate and IT Was Wrong !!! ????. I don’t profess to be able to recall perfect spellings of words but I read ok. I find speaking into Google translate does bring up the right spellings most of the time. Also I know ตาม is follow. You can say for football fans “ I don’t follow football “ ไม่ติดตามเตะบอล”
  12. And I’d be very interested, as I’m sure others would, to know how you got in your situation. How did you meet your partner? Where do you live? What is the living situation ? Is it a small village. How old are you and are you forthright enough to have it your way. I have to put my foot down all the time and it causes lots of bad moods and friction but the alternative is having those lot running your life.
  13. I’ve been knocking around Thailand for about 15 years and was interested in the language from day one. It has been a very odd occasion when I have met a Falang who sounded proficient. The @Goat apparently runs into fluent speakers regularly he says, that’s quite the achievement. The best speaker I have a run into was years ago in HuaHin in the late night karaoke area. I was hanging out in the Nancy bar. A Guy came in called Dominic. He was a stallholder on the pier at Blackpool UK and probably still is, I haven’t seen him for about five years.. Lovely guy to speak to and I would run into him from time to time over the years. He would go to places like Bali or Indonesia to get craft work made like wristbands et cetera and then he would take them back to Blackpool and sell them at a profit to pay for his time in Asia. He looks about late 50s. With a very deep tan and a big mop of curly hair. The last time I seen him we were staying in the same cheap hotel and we were talking about some small food shop he was recommending. And this is where we had our Incident. I’d first met him probably 15 years ago, but over the years I had learned Thai and stuck at trying to learn to read it. He was with a Thai woman who spoke no English and he called the shop an ‘ Ahaan Tam Sang ‘ and told me it literally said in Thai ‘ Food make order ‘ to which I replied “ Do you mean “ Ahaan Taam Sang … Food Ask Order “ like a la carte at which he got this little book out of his pocket. He had been learning Thai in an immersion method for years but had never learned the written script. What he has done was when people said a word over the years he would write it down in the little book and add his own transliteration. The woman he was with looked amazed and so was I. If he had just learned the script he would see that over the restaurant was a sign board which read in Thai อาหารตามสร้าง Ahaan Dtaam Saang but if you read the Thai consonants and vowels you pronounce the works correctly. Dom took such a hit to his pride on that one he never spoke to me again ????
  14. You haven’t quoted a post you’re commenting about ?
  15. Are these two having a laugh ? We’ve got the cleverest guy in the country covering a wide range of political points with some HiSo types and the other guy who reckons that the majority of Isaans population are highly educated and also clever AF. I will ask sometimes of people of small puppy’s “ is it vaccinated? Distemper is a horrible death “ in reply it’s 9/10 an answer of “HaHa Ha Ha Ha 300bahtHaHa. Mai Phen Lai Let it die. I don’t reckon any of you lot live anywhere near Isaan.
  16. A good morning and a big shout out to my current fans and also to any new potential New fans. A few problems I encountered. 1. There was no way to sign into App to show my history and status. 2. When I paid with my credit card I was positive I had input the correct information but on submitting the page for payment an Error message appeared saying I had input the card Expiry date incorrectly. The App would not allow me to rectify the mistake. I was only able to make alternative payment at airport counter , at Big C etc. when I opened the App next day I could see my flight was booked in upcoming bookings so I decided to pay at the airport. Later on, on the day of the flight, I saw the App said I had no booked flights. So I attempted to book a new flight on the same flight because my flight booking appeared to be cancelled, I assumed payment window expired. The new flight would not book on the App referencing a flight in the same name was booked already. Very inconvenient because I was relying on this flight to Don Muang Airport BKk to meet with my international flight. I later made a change to my international booking anyway and did not show to the ThaiLion flight, still not paid for. I have today booked a new Thai Lion flight for next week to fit my new schedule. I saw that the problem is that when you enter your card expiry date which is a 11/26 for me when you enter the year (26) the month (11) changes back to 01 from the previous date you had selected. If you miss this quirk of the App you then submit the wrong details. And then in the ‘Amazing Thailand‘ style we love the App will not allow you a second chance submit another payment and you must pay at the airport. It’s great that the flight is held but the level of uncertainty and extra time required to pay at the airport is not inspiring of confidence. 3. Another gripe is I contacted Thai lion on the provided customer contact Email provided but again disappointedly received no response, there is a national holiday ongoing though. The new price I paid a week ahead of the flight was about 1700baht with 10kgs of checked baggage (270baht). 4. Disappointingly I have check my emails and junk folder and no email of confirmation has arrived My confidence that one will be forth coming is at an all time low ???? 5. After paying for the flight with no confirmation email I have just been presented with a review section. I have given 3/5 stars which I believe is fair but when it comes to the review I cannot see the text I am typing. I am currently typing this review in the chat box of my line App and will copy and paste it into the review box and hope the review uploads. In summary, what a bunch of jokers. Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff….maybe a crash landing to where they will deny you ever booked on the flight ????
  17. Well it’s lovely to make your acquaintance Mr Goat. Firstly from the rundown of you high level of success in communication with Thais who can speak about politics I’d like to say I’m very impressed. Unfortunately I have yet to meet any one who could communicate in Thai impressively in the last 15 years of being here. I met an Israeli lady in our neighbouring village over a year ago but she has disappeared now, she could speak Isaan language but not Thai. That’s an interesting story if any one requests it I can avail of it. Oh yes you’re obviously very intelligent. You are aware that humans have differing IQ’s and levels of interest to learn a language? For instance I’m an engineer fixing electrical machines and such. I’m a pretty standard guy. But tonight I held a conversation with the family at a dinner in aid of the girlfriends sisters Husband returning from Taiwan. A mix of Isaan and Thai was spoken and everyone seemed to understand me. And I understood Yai who was Mao Laew. For some reason there is bunch of boys here making out they are Thai language experts on here trying to say that I and the local’s cannot communicate, I did have a go at entering a discussion on TV a while back. I chimed in with what I thought was a valid point on a particular discussion in the Thai language section where only a few members hung out. I was just ignored blatantly ignored. It was like turning up at boxing club and being blanked. What a bunch of 8hithouses ????. The comment about me not being able to order a tree in a garden centre is referring to when I recently attempted to order a Mango tree. As I think some one @youreavinalaff mentioned the “immersion method” Is the method I am doing. That day I was reminded as readers now will also be reminded that you cannot say Mamawang for a Mango. It must be Ma-M’wang มะม่วง or Bak M’wang บักม่วัง in Isaan. It was a long day and sometimes I just start speaking with out thinking. My point was that the owner of the shop had know clue what I was talking about while her worker who had more than the government issue ‘one brain cell‘ looked at her boss and in an exasperated tone blurted ‘ Ma-M’wang !! My point was that there are at least two sections of Thais that can work out by ‘ thinking ‘ like all native speakers of English do when we speak English with a Euro backpacker. If I blankly refused to understand someone speaking English imperfectly I would not of been able to fly around the Northern Sector of the NorthSea working off shore as I did. Understanding some of the accents of West Scotlands and the islands takes some mental agility, minds you as does arriving on a platform in midsummer to get the PLQ HVAC going. Anyway I digress. Your last point about Zulus and Thais living in the UK being able to speak English adequately. English like a lot of languages is difficult to master perfectly but the beauty of it is that it is easily understood even if you make a mistake on every word attempted. While with Thai you could hold a picture flash card clue up for every word and half would not have a clue. And in Isaan a lot appear to not understand Thai.
  18. I’d like to thank you for those kind words. It’s encouraging to know you enjoy my output ????
  19. Oh… don’t yee worry. I re-wrote the whole Savannakhet trip report again as it was of AN international importance and my information, opinion and comment required dissemination. I had a duty to AN visa runners to publish and it went down a storm with upwards of 5 likes.
  20. I do have a disdain for quite a few people I come across if they cause me to feel that way. Today I was at the fathers goat farm and an Isaan harridan was riding past honking the horn and was selling those ice cream out of.cooler on the back. If you’ve every seen them I think they are referred to as Boran ice cream and there are flavours such as Durian and Puak? the purple one. They are made on about 8inch blocks with a plain paper wrap. They always produce a knife and cut a piece in half and present 4inchs on a stick then ask for 10baht. When the lad chose his flavour she presented an 8inch Ron Jeremy size block on a stick and ans said “ 20baht “. I said “ Do one you old witch ! “ which she didn’t understand and the girlfriend told her 10 baht will do ok so she cut the top off. I know she’s just trying to make a buck but its just taking the pi55 now ! Where are you hailing from where you are have such quality conversations?
  21. I will address this troll. I am not prepared to put the effort in with the language to the extent of the 5 Mai's etc. and then there is a whole new set of vocabulary with Isaan. No I’m doing ok. A man told me yonks back “ once you grasp the language you will realise that they are talking a load of nothing “ that is correct. I do believe I’m getting a push back from the language experts here. If you have really put that much effort into speaking this language what kind of topics of conversation do you cover with the locals ? Isaan people are of a different breed to Falangs. I put them in the same category as Zulu tribal people
  22. A great post and I think we’ll meaning. 1. Dangs father was not known outside of the village. My girlfriend while we were split up for 3 years or so got with him ( I wrote a novel on this story a couple of days ago and it didn’t post ????) she met him in Hua Hin they were in love. He was a head Chef in a big name hotel and had a good career going. She was ready to retire from sitting in Colin and his wife’s (her cousin) bar all night and retired ( what I was waiting for her to do) They started building a small house, that I’m sitting outside of now at midnight with the dogs. She had sold some land her father had given her to finance it. Colin had been tricked by his missus into buying the land thinking it was some other land. She got pregnant had the baby and thats when he got off. My girlfriend can be lovely as she has been for a while now but you have to know how to handle her and what hill to die on. I imagine that the Thai Chef had enough of her psychotic behaviour and he sent me a stream of messages, when he found out she would make contact with me while they were together, saying she was a gambling addict. He was twisted and when he found my number on her phone I had a good six months of weird photos while she was asleep and then when she was pregnant. He was obsessed with me but me and her were finished. He stayed for the birth which I was tricked into sending 8000 baht for and she probably got birthed under the 30 baht scheme. She told me she was alone at the birth but a year later or more I found a Facebook profile he’d made with him holding Dang in the hospital. He also made multiple face book profiles of her too which many friends chatted with her /him on. Works out they were meant for each other a couple of psychos together. I got with her a year after Dang was born when I passed through her village at the end of a four month break in Thailand and Bali. And it all started. 2. Time will only tell if Dang’s attachment to me endures. That’s in his hands. He is definitely not the same as any other kids in the area , as was I in my childhood 3. Never seen him eat a bowl of noodles, he eats pork balls LookChin and he was welcome to mine. 4. Unless your the guy who says “ and I speak ‘good’ Thai “ it’s not you. I don’t bother with the tones so much just make sure the last word I say sounds good. 5. I just don’t let people walk over me. This BS about everyone runs along and is polite. There are people here who just do what they want and everyone else has to take it and not complain or they are seen as the problem. Example 1. Left side 100 year old neighbour won’t die and keeps inedible chickens. They walk to out side at 10 am as he lifts the wicker baskets and they <deleted> all over our outside floors and eat any food left in the outside kitchen. I live in harmony with those who I get on with. The ones I don’t get on with have made the problem. My girlfriend lives the way you suggest and everyone does what they please. The opposite to the west.
  23. You seem very forthright and sure you have all the answers. Are you a sociapath ? Or maybe you that manager type so full of your own self confidence that you believe you have the answer, while the experienced guys watch the job fall to bits. So let’s get it straight. You’re suggesting I leave him alone to get schooled by the next door neighbours farm labourer friends all 40 plus with old knackered two stroke bikes who hang out next door drinking Lao Kao and smoking Ganga. Not bad lads but you’re suggesting they can guide him better than me ? I’m a multi skilled engineer and can put him in any direction he chooses. Also what will I move onto after I’ve ditched him. Him asking his mom “ Mair where’s Stebe ? “ “He’s not coming back Dang “ . “ Mair ? Why ? “ “ Coz a Sociopath on AN gave a perfectly sensible suggestion that because I can be a total idiot from time to time he should leave and not return “ .. “ But Mair I liked Stebe and he was teaching me English now that I’m interested coz of all the new words i here on YouTube “ “ Don’t worry about him now , go next door and seek guidance from the lads” “ The laoKao boys ?” .. “Yes” And about me. So I suppose I get on the dating sites or maybe meet young ukuleleian girl displaced from the proxy war while I’m getting a machine fixed in a food factory in the UK. And don’t worry about his English he’s coming along fine. ????
