  1. Nah.  Folks considering that should go for the 8K Baht / mo 22nd floor 45sqm in Jomtien with view of the ocean/islands (a 10-baht ride gets you to Pattaya).  There are plenty of those condos on offer now, thanks to immigration removing so many renters - though were 15K/mo or so, just a few years ago.

Combine that with eating out every night at beachfront area restaurants (including tip), a 1-hr massage every few days (250 Baht incl/tip), see new movies at the theater and do some shopping with your GF - and still spend about 30K/mo.

If you need to do Tourist-Visa Trips and extensions, add about 4K/mo (VIP-buses or Flights and no fan-room slumming), and a new passport every 2 yrs.

Health Ins (AXA Group via Pattaya Expats Club): 20K to 35K / yr. for under 60.  34K to 57K / yr for up to 70 (renewable up to age 75).
Never been 15k. I go every year to view talay and always get 10k a month no lease, just a few months 35 to 45 sqm

  2. The forms i was given yesterday are new forms, not the same as last year.
The older forms did not say in person unless disabled.
Before you start arguing, i have copies of both old and new, and they are different.

Visa agents will be eventually outlawed. Maybe within a year or two, maybe sooner
Not the best news obviously for those with no other option so probably now is a good time to formulate plan C
  3. So this is news.  The result of a poll amongst the most negative miserable bunch of people in the country shows that most of them expect things in Thailand will get worse.  No shock there.

A sample size of 360 old duffers.

Seriously any poll on Thaivisa is hardly going to say Thailand is going to be amazing when the majority of posters absolutely hate living here, look down on Thais, and basically hate their lives.

Why is this even a news article?  It's quite ridiculous.
It goes deeper. So many expats struggling here are chronic alcohilcs and obviously very depressed so the suicide rates speak for them selves.

I see a pattern where posters sound so desperate and then they stop posting followed by a announcement in the news section

Why is it so hard to walk away from LOS ? Why does it so often end in suicide..

  4. Price? You are kidding, yes? I can buy a kg of mangos ( in season ) for a quarter of the price it would cost for a single mango in Oz. North of Chiang Rai, again in season, I can buy 4 kg of pineapples for the same cost as a single pineapple in Oz. And the pineapples are far sweeter. Are we on the same planet?
People choosing thailand because pineapples are cheaper and sweeter. How sad is that!
So many desperates here broke and busted and justify it for the most ridiculous reasons.

You admit you don't have health insurance but as long as those mangoes are cheaper than oz.. It's all good [emoji23]

  5. Well yeah of course but what does that prove? Moving country can be very hard especially for people invested here.

Sent from my Lenovo A7020a48 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I doubt all 90% are married home owners or on business visas.

THE overwhelming number of posts on TV all say they don't own anything here and have a suitcase [emoji161] by the door ready to bolt. Problem is bolt where? All of Asia is tightening visa rules

You know very well that most are just having a bitch.

Besides, I don't want to look ultra-pathetic, playing the field as an old man.

You need educating. It's playing the field as a dirty old man wich is by far the best type of old man to be assuming there is sufficient blood flow.

2 type of old men here. The sexually active and those that despise them
