  1. You can buy a roll of perforated rubber matting, 30cm x 1m from 20bht shops and Big C etc. It is usually used as a drawer liner or anti slip mat on the car dashboard..
But is totally non slip on polished tiles.. Cut up four 20x20cm squares and just sit under each corner of your rug.. A cheap and easy solution that definitely works..
I've looked for this stuff in the past for my recliners that slip across tiles but couldn't find rubber at home pro

I will take a look in big c.

  2. We chose to live around Thais because we want to live in Thailand, You seem to want to live Thailand lite

God yes. I have zip zero interest in thai men
I live exactly like I did in the West surrounding myself with my own people that I can relate to. I'm only here for the ladies and the climate.

Good luck with pretending to be a thai. They can see straight through you. And see you only as a cash [emoji202] cow. As this thread shows it will lead to danger
    Enjoy!

  4. Any recommendations on where to buy these? Do you install these yourself or need to hire an aircon technician to install them?
Make sure you buy one with the right set of filters for smog and exhaust pollution

  5. In Thailand, they don't need heat.. there is plenty of that already here.. My DW door stays shut.. Trust me, there are no roaches inside, under or around my it. All my drains have S Traps, no roaches getting in that way.
They don't need heat in Thailand ? Ok you must be in a fan room nice n warm right.

You think your roach free buy even just one little baby means there are hundreds more

And prime spot is around dish washer

  6. What food and water supply? Are you referring to the water that drains into you sewer or where your grey water goes?
I have my DW 4 years now and no roaches.
There are a thousand threads on Google about it. They love the heat around a washer and the smell of food IN The washer draws them to nest around it. They need water so condensation and proximity to sink makes your washer perfect

And yes they get inside the dishwasher! Google is your friend

No big deal just spray regularly around the washer. Just because you can't see them doesn' mean they are not there

  7. I understand the drone thing, But why hurt the poor street vendors??!! Are only the rich allowed to make a profit out of this period? Without the street vendors it will be just another boring city..
What profit are the "rich" making? Street vendors are squatting on footpaths, no tax, feed the rat population by dumping oil and scraps and have zero hygiene checks.

  8. The more I read this, and other similar topics, the more I become aware that there is an incredible amount of dirt poor, or subsistence pensioners, living as expats in Thailand. The uproar from many when it became likely they would have to actually prove income consistent with Immigration guidelines, further proved the theory.
However, one of the great things about this country is that it can provide a place to live for all, commensurate with their income levels. Appreciate this.
Phuket is more expensive than nearly anywhere else in Thailand because it is one of the world's premier tourist destinations. There are rip offs galore in the tourist areas as in any popular tourist site.
However, very few local expats live as tourists here, instead we shop in street markets, at Tesco, Makro, et al, the same as everyone else in the country. We live in jungles, farmland, smaller islands or near deserted beaches. We may pay a little more than elsewhere for a plate of rice. Big deal, it's still very cheap compared to where we originated!
Some of you characters who haven't been to Phuket for 10, 20 or even 30 years , but are still banging on about being overcharged for a drink (it's never happened to any other drinker!),  should, firstly get up to date knowledge of the place - you wouldn't recognize it from those days and secondly, get on with your life wherever it is that you've found your personal paradise, and stop moaning about other places that don't suit you!

It's about tourists though. Your an expat. Tourists don't go to Tesco to by pork and Veges.
Any expat can live on sticky rice and mama noodles but makes no sense to compare to 2 week millionaires
