  1. Being by the sea is not such an attraction in Pattaya as in places with an actual beach that isn't getting washed away everytime it rains. Besides, one would have to be insane to actually swim in the filth.
I thought Chiang Mai was cheaper in almost every respect. Only thing I can think of as less expensive in Pattaya would be the girls.
I said by the sea.. Not in it lol

You don't need to swim in it to like being by the ocean. It's calming and the sunsets are quite nice
  2. How can you hang yourself from a door frame (not speculating!)? Isn't that too low? Unless, of course, she was extremely short...

What a terrible way to go. Way too young to die. RIP
That's not how hanging works. You don't need your feet off the floor.

Many hang from door knobs . Get on knees, apply forward pressure away from door until passing out and gravity takes care of the test

  3. Not my experience here in Pattaya. Many big bike riders are crazy on the roads and drive too fast.
I spotted a farang on a big bike in Jomtien the other day , no helmet and was speeding like a crazy idiot.
Imbecile farang on big bikes regularly open the throttle on soi Buakhao where there is no footpath. I always think surely they will slide out under a truck but sadly it never happens

  4. The real searing question at this point has to be - Is the junta sincere about a free and transparent election process? Allowing international monitors would go a long way toward establishing that sincerity. Not allowing them will go a long way toward solidifying the belief, in many minds, that they have no intention of giving up power, and the incredible wealth that goes along with that power. This administration is corrupt, incompetent, and lacking vision, qualities of leadership, or any sympathy toward the common man here. They must go. Get out. Get out now. You are despised. You are not wanted. You are not needed. Nobody likes you. Nobody. You are way, way, way past your sell by date. You have expired!
Not according to the thai people. Surely the message is crystal clear through 4 years of inaction!!
  5. The way he carried on was obnoxious.

Sent from my Redmi Note 6 Pro using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Lot of frustration out there ATM. It's annoying when you have serious questions and all you get is that awkward thai smile when they are held accountable.

Do whatever it takes to get answer's. And of course it's easy to be a weakling and walk away. Not my style or the "obnoxious" man's style either.

    Stand up for your self!
  6. The PI has many options for business (outsourcing, etc) which are much easier than Thailand.  Also better retirement-based options.  And one can stay as a Tourist for 3 YEARS before a border-bounce to re-start again.

Of course, if busted for breaking laws one gets booted.  That includes lying to immigration, which is completely unnecessary in the PI, given they banned agents (aka "fixers").  The IOs there are honest and friendly - not rude/cruel partners with agents (as in some - Not All - offices in Thailand).

And of course your PR is revoked if abandoning one's wife and children (family), but I doubt anyone is getting the boot for not paying for some uncle's cigarette habit.  The major difference is, if you are married to a PI gal, they treat you as a "good guy" for supporting your wife - the opposite of what one may experience here.

The primary objective of the PI authorities - as reflected in those rules - is to Preserve Families and keep out lawbreakers.  Yes, they are very socially-conservative - consider there is no "divorce" in the PI, for starters.
    Good balanced post.
  7. There was only mention of him and his friends in Patpong Sherlock, not soi 4 Sukhumvit ( Nigerians selling him drugs!! Are YOU drunk?) If his medications did not react with booze in England they would not react in Bangkok ( this certainly was not his first night of drinking)  You must be the worst TVF detective in 2018.
What a dummy. Drinking ramps up hard on holidays especially thailand!!

You think party drugs don't make a difference when drunk?

Have you ever even been in party mode in Asia? Doubt it, plenty die.. Just use Google.

I can explain it for you but I can't understand it for you

  8. Haha. Exactly my thought also. My daughter has just turned 3 and she knew the whole alphabet in Thai and English before the age of 2.Now her English is better than her moms.No issues with r or l either. So the ABC songs do work
Kids are super quick to pick up new knowledge.

The older they get the harder it becomes

  9. Most certainly it's not just thailand tightening up. Cambodia and extremely concerning Phillipines new rules including deport for renting a hooker and almost unbelievably.. Deported for being rude!!

"Exit Clearance will now be required after 60 days - [MTV] Essentially if you stay in country for > 60 days you need Tax Clearance before you can leave, even if leaving for a holiday - IIRC this is currently 6 Months
    ● Foreigners Permanent Residency will be cancelled on divorce, relationship abandonment, or failure to provide support for Filipino spouse and family(does not disclose as what extent of her existing family). - [MTV] Scary
    ● Foreigners Permanent Residency will cancelled if outside the Philippines more than 1 year.
    ● Foreigners will no longer be allowed to establish any type of business under a visitor visa.- [MTV] One of the major selling points of PI over TH
    ● New visa applicants will be required to have a physical and mental evaluation prior to getting an immigrant visa. - [MTV] Speechless
    ● Entry into the Philippines will be denied for those believed to arriving for the purpose of getting prostitutes or showing "disrespect" to any government official or employee. - [MTV] Some may guffaw at this but anybody who's visited the Philippines for the past 10+ years can tell you about clampdowns in Manila & (especially) Cebu
    ● Deportable offenses: engaging in prostitution,  being deemed a public charge, being deemed undesirable, and being "rude" .- [MTV] Speechless
    ● Foreigners must register within 60 days of arrival and update any changes in said registration within 7 days. - [MTV] TM30/TM28 anybody?
    ● Also states that the immigration agency can start requiring cash bonds on demand to ensure immigration adherence. Provision perhaps for longer stays?- [MTV] at the moment the only cash requirement outside of visa expenses is if you go for an SRRV Visa, this sounds more like they're going to want to see Funds in the Bank for people who are staying longer on any kind of basis
    ● Imprisonment offences of not less than 5 years: falsely claiming to be a Filipino citizen, pretending to be someone else or using false documents, making a false statement in any immigration"

Thailand is still the bees knees

Only other option is a really poor one 20 years behind thailand and that's Vietnam
