  1. Sounds like the thermostat is faulty. The water coming from the rear of fridge is a result of the compartment being too cold.

The ice that forms on that panel you mention normally runs off and evaporates when the fridge does a defrost routine. But with the fridge being too cold, too much ice forms there so it overflows into the fridge.

Replacing the thermostat should fix the problem. If you can get one. Big if!
There is a service number on the side of the Mitsubishi fridge that I've used over the years on occasion and they had parts

It's a 1k call out fee includes Labour so I guess it's probably worth it as it still looks good in and out
  2. Temperature control not working but fridge is cold (to cold) and there is a plastic grill just below the freezer that's spews a lot water

Is this easily fixed? It's about 10 years old so not sure if sinking more money into it is a good idea

    Any help would be appreciated

  3. Your whole attitude is wrong, you think going to court will solve anything or be fast. It will cost you money and will probably do nothing. It will take forever and in the meanwhile you still have this problem.

So your options are accept that your beaten and fix it or move out.  Its not that hard just take your loss or sink more money into it and accept that that is what you wil have to do again.

You obviously are new to Thailand even Thais that I know who went to court talk about wasted time and no results and you expect it to work here as where you came from (UK probably). It does not and you just have 2 options like everyone has explained you.

Logic does not come into this and should not be of your concern if the owner wants to neglect his house if you move out.

"Logic does not come into this and should not be of your concern if the owner wants to neglect his house if you move out."

This more than anything. OP is using western logic to justify his argument. He is winding himself up over it and it's interesting to watch. I guess he learnt his lesson just like the every farang has learnt here over time.

  4.  It happened to me on two different ocassions during  my early days in Pattaya. Money was taken, a camera (before cell phones came into existence) and jewellary. On both occasions the gold was locked away ..and both times the lock was opened and then locked again.
PS. I consider myself far from stupid. Every day we entrust our lives (ie: when crossing a road) to complete strangers.... as well as our belongings.

What do you mean the lock was opened?

A good quality safe would be impossible to open (without making a racket)
  5. Discount smog and pollution??? Gotta a be kidding. Been living here 22 years in Central Pattaya. Non smoker. 4 years ago had major lung surgery in Europe. Half lung removed incl. many lymph-nodes. 2 days after surgery the pathologist came to see me. His first question... Where have you been living the last 10 years? Your lungs and lymph-nodes look like the ones working in coal mines or similar professions. He was dead serious. Ever since I wear a mask on my bike, strictly.
I attach a picture taken right now of my air inlet for my forced air control system of my home. This filter was white 3 days ago when I changed it, it is already black with sticky and gluey carbon residue. I live away from road in a large garden....Go have a look at cars parked or boats moored and unattended for a few days... Horrific...
This is just one of the negatives here. Newcomers might still be impressed by this.. ... hole of town....More and more oldtimers are leaving and visitors staying away... Ask business people... I exclude [emoji1071] and [emoji1128]. There are certainly better options, even here in [emoji1242]. But much better in far away countries. Do your homework and don't commit or invest til you are convinced. Good luck. MS>
You must have been sick with lung problems already before living in Pattaya

  6. East Pattaya (the Darkside) is the place for you. When I first moved to Pattaya, I rented a 2 bedroomed house there, small drive and garden, wetroom, decent lounge, Thai kitchen and 10 minutes on a bike to Central Pattaya. 6500 baht.

You can discount the negatives in Fredob43's post. No smog/diesel fumes here, traffic since the completion of the Sukhumvit underpass nowhere near as bad as he suggests.

As others have suggested, book in to a hotel for a couple of weeks and hire a bike. Take a good look round.

Try Dao Café on the darkside for a room. Has rooms round the pool and a good restaurant, run by Belgians and cheap. Would make a good base for your search.
The problem is you need to have a bike To get around and if you like a drink that becomes problematic

I think one of the biggest draws to Pattaya is the baht bus system, incredibly convenient

OP should look at jomtien but only near the baht bus route
  7. sorry but the previous governement was much worse than what we see now. They were spending money, taxpayers money and did not bother to rise money. The political memory is so short living, all already forgotten?. The problem is that the Thai people are not knowing what is democracy and need therefore a strong hand. So strong hand or not there are always fails and errors when doing things...the balance is what counts, more good than bad?? Judge by yourself but based on facts not on statistics.
Obviously one lack of the actual governement is its unability to accept and try to learn from contradicition. However that is a lack of the Thai society in general and I fear that no one coming after will be better in that
    You nailed it. [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]
  8. Thanks all. I don't wear T-shirts twice BTW - in fact it's not often I wear the same one all day. I move around a bit but am usually in a serviced apartment with its own washing machine. They're decent machines (current one is a Bosch no more than a couple of years old) but I have the same problem everywhere - fruity under the arms... Anyway, I'll make sure it's breeze next time and also try the baking soda trick. Cheers.
I wear wife beaters. No stinky under Arms ever

Are your Ts pure cotton. Most of the crap here is polyester cotton which totally traps BO
  9. Guess it depends what one's definition of "safe" is. Thailand is the most dangerous place in the world to drive; the cops are corrupt; the bar girls slip you mickey's; the businessmen rip you off and it's your fault if you get in an accident even if hit from behind by a drunk thai driver.

I had a friend who used to take a walk down a private street right next to his apt building for years then one day some homeowner came after him , after he left the complex with a long bamboo pole and hit him twice with it. He yelled for someone to call the cops and when the cop came he took him to the police dept. The desk cop there told him he could go home if he promised not to walk down the street anymore. He had a concussion and asked to go to the hospital and stated he wanted to make a complaint and had to wait one hour for the tourist police to come. They told him he could make a complaint against the guy who nearly killed him but he would go to jail for 5 years for trespassing.  Safe?  Not if you are a farong.

Saying it doesn't make it so.
    ' 5 years for trespassing'

So he tresspased and got beat up. Am I missing something? Probably the rest of the story..

Don't break the law. End up wondering around on my private property and I will approach you with a big stick to.

  10. They're accused of prostitution!  So, why were they processed for deportation!

Accusing somebody doesn't mean they are guilty, although they are black, and this IS Thailand.
Good for thailand! Look at what being politically correct has done to Europe.

Thais do as they please and if they want blacks hookers out then they are out!

You really think they were standing on the corner for hours because they were tourists?

And why did the others run? Or maybe they were jogging for exercise
