With XP and Windows 7 you could just go to Ms.config and choose the Startup programs...With Windows 10 you can't,

It was sort of replaced by Task Manager under the Startup tab.

As others have said, the single biggest thing that can done is to replace an HDD with an SSD.

I just got a new inexpensive HP and surprisingly there was very little bloatware.  I used Decrapifier and I think all I removed was Office 365, games and MacAfee.

I am not familiar with the Section 38 app, but when you register on the IO TM30 website you can do this on behalf of the owner.  You only need to upload a scan of the house-book and a (signed) front/back copy of the owner's ID-card.  When you use your e-mail address, you will be able to access the site and file the TM30s of yourself (and any other foreign guests) staying at your girlfriend's rental condo.

You can also register as tenant of the condo (in that case a copy of the rental agreement and a copy of the (signed) front/back of your thai girlfriend's ID-card would do.

I compiled a comprehensive step-by-step instruction on how to do the above, just PM me if you are interested in receiving a copy.

I have done it multiple  times online and only (first time) a copy of my lease and passport.  Owner is out of the country and was not involved.

Actually, what hours businesses operate is nothing to do with the government. Or shouldn't be. The duty of any government is to protect its citizens, and that doesn't include dictating what time people can conduct their business or enjoy their social life. Or shouldn't.

Maybe they shouldn't  but just about every country does.

How much to pay to the police? The law hasn´t changed. Clubs like Spicy, Warm Up and so on are open till late - and they have to pay a lot for that.

The time beyond 01:30 is now the paid time.  The time which was added is free and supposedly came from the "Big Boss" according to the police who were making the rounds.  The consensus seems to be they will stay open until 01:30 IF there are customers.

Every Windows computer has mutiple languages you can choose. But you have to download the corresponding language package first and then set the launguage.

Sorry that is incorrect.  With windows 10 home or windows 10 pro, it is correct.  But a single language version can only be changed by upgrading to Pro or reinstalling.

You should look whether they say "Windows 10 Home" version or "Windows 10 Pro" version.

For Windows 10 Home (quote from Microsoft):

And you can bet it is Thai language installed except explicitly specified otherwise.

I don't care whether anything is installed but do on myself and pay a small amount for a license key. But that requires some basic knowledge.

PRO by default is multi-language so these are Home Single language notebooks.

I would have no issues installing a fresh copy of Windows except that if the laptop fails I will not be able to get warranty.  With the newer no optical drive, most laptops do not have installation media.

The quote from MS about changing the input but not the display is kind of funny.

  7. Yes Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home both allow you to choose during startup.  However this is Windows 10 Home SINGLE LANGUAGE which can only be changed by upgrading to Pro.  I can easily get a very cheap Pro license which will fix the issue however, if it starts out in Thai I will not be able to get that far.

I have asked HP Thailand Sales and they don't know.  HP support is checking.

I cannot quite tell but it looks like the pictures show a combination english / thai keyboard.

  8. I see many laptops for sale online in Thailand.  Many of them say they have Windows 10 Single Language but they never specify which language it comes with, English or Thai.  You have to go through some gyrations to add additional languages but I can't do that if if comes with only Thai installed. I am looking at an HP HP 15s-du1060TX.  This is a US model number but who knows what the language is.  Anyone bought a single language version before?

Whats with the question mark? I think u know what I mean. Isaan is an area, people usually Laos descent and Bhudist. Khmer is a religion / culture and yes Khmer people are found in South Eastern Isaan

Religion, I don't think so, 97% of Cambodians are Buddhists .  Khmer are simply people from Cambodia and speak the language.  People from Isaan who speak Khmer, are in most cases not really Khmer but they do speak something like the Khmer language.  If someone from Thailand speaks Khmer in Cambodia, they are immediately recognized as speaking Surin-Khmer.

  10. I am in the same situation.  My order was to arrive before 13 February and has been delayed another 2 weeks.  Tracking says it was ready for shipping on 20 January.  I had to "chat" to find out about the delay.  My complicating factor is that I will no longer be in Thailand on the 28th.  I am not allowed to cancel since they say it has been shipped but it really hasn't.

If this is true, its no longer an alternative...three months was bad enough but having to leave and pay every month is madness. A few reports coming out of Manila and Angeles that PI is clamping down on being able to do tourist visas for three years, now requiring people to be married or SRRV

I don't doubt you but do you have any background on those reports about the Philippines, like where can I see them?  I ask because I am heading there in a month.
